Where do you buy your phone cards?
How many minutes do you buy them for?
How much do you pay for them?

I'm asking these questions because I'll be needing some phone cards here pretty soon, and want to get the best deal on them. Thanks.

Normally, TARGET, in 80 to 120 minute chunks. Usually they cost less than ten bucks. I need to see what the rate for Canada is too. Hmmm...

I've bought them at gas stations

but that's not the best place.

I was told that Sam's has the best ones - better than WalMart's anyway!

There is a bookshop down the road from me that sells the good ones... hold on that would mean you would have to come to New Zealand to buy them.... expensive for a phonecall. ;)

Hold on.... think about it.... don't they ask the same questions when wanting condoms for the first time....

*chuckles*

Where do you buy your condoms?
How many minutes do they last?
How much do you pay for them?

I'm asking these questions because I'll be needing some condoms here pretty soon, and want to get the best deal on them. Thanks.

Check out Sam's Warehouse Club or Price Club (Costco). I think both have good phone cards.

I buy them at Costco. They carry a pack of Sprint cards that has 20 60 minutes cards for $43.00 (roughly 3.5 cents/minute...).

I've never had any problems using them.

I checked out that site and the PhoneCard One cards look to be a pretty damn good deal. Do you use these? If so, how do you like them?

there is a 49 cent per week maintenance fee and a 50 cent connection fee? The the rate is 1.9 cents.

Check out the cards from Sams. It is from AT&T. It has a slightly higher rate, something less than 5 cents per minute (it's either 4.6 or 3.9 it varies when you renew it), but there is no weekly fee and no conncetion fee. You can reload it by the phone when ever you want more minutes. I guess it depends on how you use the card only a few really long calls then the PhoneCard One might be good. If you make a lot of calls the the Sams card makes more scense.

Ya, I'll be using them only a few times and each time will be like 2 hours plus. So, I'm guessing the PhoneCard One might be the better deal, right?

Look around your town...gas stations, kwikmarts and the like. I can get 1000 minutes for $20. I don't waste my money on the AT&T or Sprint ones. You only get 120 minutes or so for the same price as I pay for my 1000 minutes. :)

Wal-Mart sells good phone cards. They're through AT&T and the rates are good. And you could recharge them at any Wal-Mart so you don't have to keep buying a new card.

I think you could buy a card for 120 mins for about $7.

The phone cards i would buy were sold at the T station near my old highschool, which is pretty much right down the street from where i go to college now. the guy at the T had a cart, and he sold a bunch...i'd pay 10 bucks and get something like 1200 minutes...it was a good deal, cause they were the generic brand.

you have to shop, online or offline.

And you have to evaluate your need too, what are you using them for... Is there a maintenace fee each week, do you loose 2 or 3 minutes when there is no answer, so on....

Here form Montreal to USA my calling card have cost me 50.00$ for 1000 minutes... pretty good that give 2 cent/minute.

Good shopping

www.bigzoo.com

cheapest and the best out there. if you dont have a credit card, its worth getting just to use it.... i think its something like 2 cents a minute. cheaper then any phone card out there.

I buy mine from Ace, the check cashing place.. 20 dollars gets me 11 hours (with out tons of hidden fee's)

Circle K is where I purchase my phone cards.

I don't buy them on a regular basis ... but when I do need one I buy them there , the one I get is 800 minutes or more I think ... and its only $10.

The best deal I have found so far.. if you have them.. is Rickers.. a gas station.. 4000 minutes.. 50 cent connection fee.. $20.

Although.. it would be much cheaper to get a cell phone with lots of minutes.. and a nationwide plan.. usually ranges 29.95 up. That is what I did.. and it is much better than using phone cards.. and having to rush out in the middle of the night to buy one.

Um... that would be 5 cents per minute, not 2 cents.

Sam's club is cheaper than Walmart. 3.4 cents per minute as I recall, with no weekly fees, etc.

I agree with Sam's Club. I got 1000 minutes once (when i lived in Texas but it's the same up here) and it was $40 for it. Pretty good deal I think.

Good luck with your hunt Cibo.

Thanks for the help everyone. There's a costco that sells 1k minutes for 35 bucks so we used that. But next time we're gonna get a PhoneCard One and use that. ALOT cheaper.

Did you look around online? Cuz my boyfriend and I used to get all our phone cards online. Sometimes you can find sites for free ones. But those are tough to find sometimes.

You could also consider getting a good cellular plan. Like get something like 350 anytime min. with free long distance included and unlimited nights and weekends. I have seen some plans like this for around $40 - $50 a month. Most of your calls will have to be made after like 8 or 9 at night but they are unlimited minutes!

Just look around and shop the net. You never know what good deals you can find!

Ya I know how you feel cuz I have the same problem with the sucky signal. Well, maybe if you are only going to be talking to one person they could get the good cell plan and just call you if they have better reception. If you are talking to different people you might just be out of luck and have to stick to regular phone cards.
