Philando Castile

That's your opinion, and you're welcome to it.

I haven't seen Snopes disagree with my worldview yet, so I'll continue to use them as the gold standard for wingnut debunking.

The most reliable indicator of "truth" is how often someone confirms my bias.
:nods:

Quite true.

I haven't been steered wrong by Snopes yet, so I'll continue to use them as the gold standard for wingnut debunking.

Snopes said that clock boy built a clock and was oppressed when he clearly did not build anything.

You still believe them, go ahead, that is your prerogative.

ETA: I could not recall what was my Final Straw moment about snopes so I googled again. Jeez, I now remember. Dear god those are not gold standard people.

To be fair, removing 4 screws from a existing alarm clock, discarding the case, and piling the innards into a case is almost like building a clock.

Negative, Ghostrider, the pattern is full.

I keep thinking about how horribly incompetent that officer was. He had every advantage over the victim. The victim informed him that he had a weapon, or at least a CCL.What movement did the victim make to make the cop think he was in immediate mortal danger? This is bad

Only slightly more impressive than eating a pop tart in to a gun.

Unless it was a s'mores pop tart. Eating that would be harder.

As a child I took everything apart up to and including the lawnmower and the carburetor on the family van.

Not once did I get a Presidential attaboy from Johnson Nixon Ford Carter or Reagan.

Not even for the stuff that I took apart and couldn't figure out how to get back together again.

I built some cool shit with those old school construction sets. The ones with real nut and bolts. Bridges, buildings, and two destroyed vacuum cleaners on my resume....

Gilbert Company Erector sets. Yep. Had one. As a young man working for a steel fabrication shop welding a spud wrench and putting bolts in the holes reminded me of that.

Attack the source all you want, won't change the facts as they emerge.

And you still owe me a blow job.

Maybe the list of the 200k some folks that have a permit to carry should be made public? I'm okay with that.
Yeah, that would be good. Then criminals looking for weapons will know exactly which houses to target for robbery when the owners are away.

Because it would be the right thing to do, if true. Imagine that.
I expect they have a very short list of what information can be released during an investigation.
If they cross that line and start deciding, on a case by case basis, what information is released (because someone decides "in this case it doesn't matter" then there's the high likelihood that at some point information critical to a case is going to get released when it shouldn't have been, potentially letting a violent offender walk on a technicality.

You just don't get it, do you? ;)

EVERYTHING is racism to leftists. They thrive on a never ending stream of lies, distortions, rumors, and misinformation.
Like you and your claim Merrick Garland is an anti-gun nut. You still haven't found any evidence he is yet you still haven't admitted you're full of shit about it.

This seems very important to you. Is Merrick a family member? Friend? Lover?

Nope, just find it amusing that Miles loves to paint people as spouting lies, misinformation and ignoring facts, yet it's perfectly acceptable for him to do it.
His claim is something that's easily verifiable if there was any truth to it, it's not a "matter of opinion". Just a quick demonstration of his hypocrisy.

Why that one example? Do you have some reason to believe that he is pro-gun or neutral?

I have no idea how strong he even was or is in the running as Obama's pick, but I cannot imagine Obama wanting to pick someone who was Pro 2nd Amendment can you?

Of all the claims one might make, the idea that Obama's pick might be anti-gun seems less than outlandish. I have no idea one way or the other but the man's beliefs are.

That wasn't an article it was an editorial; a poorly written one at that. It holds no more authority than my own lengthy posts about my observations.

I won't wager on what is "closer" to the truth but I will wager on what are provable and/or empirical facts.

If you bother to note I didn't put any particular weight on the article. It did bring out a couple of facts that were unknown heretofore.

I think we both agree that what poses as journalism these days treads dangerously close to fiction, or maybe docudrama. The article I linked is mo more or less trustworthy than the NYT as far as I'm concerned. Eventually it will all shake out.

It might be opinion, but the picture from the girlfriend's iPhone clearly shows what looks to be the butt of a gun under the guy's shirt. I'm beginning to think she was trying to offer alibi in her monotone commentary about the CCL. Once again we are seeing an innocent black man story exploded as the facts come in, hell, by now, I'm beginning to lean towards even believing that he was one of the robbers based on past history as it emerges. But this is how the elite, mostly white Left thinks, don't worry about truth, emotion wins elections, so play it up, whoop it up and incite, incite, incite and if anyone disputes any aspect of The Story, then go after them, destroy them with rhetoric and if you can wreck their personal lives, get them fired, destroy their business and put them into seclusion to live in fear.

This. From the footage filmed from within the car.

That is not how most people carry concealed, that's how the bad guys do it.

That car in my part of town at dusk?

It would have been pulled over here, too.

It's not just race, it's economic.

Up here though, the poor people dont have easy access to guns.

So we impound their cars for not being roadworthy instead of shooting them.

This tends to keep them in their district.

Police on patrol at night make fast decisions based on high-yield generalizations.

Old car, black people in t shirts and hats, upscale white neighborhood= we are going to check you out.

And what a surprise... He has a gun in his waistband!

I have zero sympathy for what the police do to people trolling the streets with guns.
