Has anyone ever tried those sex-attractant pheremones that everyone and his brother are selling on the net? Do they work?
And why are they so expensive ($80 a bottle sometimes). Is this intrinsic to their manufacture, or is just the usual thing of expensive do-nothing snake-oil? Apparently,
there is the same stuff for pigs called 'Boar-Mate' that can be had for just $12 a can. (You can get it on the net, and you can even get special pig lubricating jelly in the same order. But I digress. Where was I? Yes, human pheremones....)

ABC News conducted an experiment of their own to see if pheromones really do work. They took a set of identical twins and applied a pheromone oil to one twin and plain, old witch hazel to the other one. They took the twins to a bar and had them switch places throughout the night so no one would realize they were 2 different people. The results were amazing! 30 men approached the twin wearing the pheromones while only 11 men approached the sister wearing witch hazel. The use of pheromones appears to have tripled the success rate!
But, as a het male. I wouldn't want to be approached by 11 guys, much less 30, thank you very much.
An article at SALON seems a bit more ambivalent:

According to this, the studies that support the efficacy of pheremones seem to have been carried out by the manufacturers.
But there is hope. Apparently, subjecting women to a smell between that of Good & Plenty candy and cucumber caused their vaginal blood flow to increase by 13%.
