I wasn't referring to you in particular in the previous post,
it was meant for new writers/ first time submitters.

You & I both spend some time in other forums, and I don't
have to tell you about some of the well adjusted people on there.

There are some folks who take the boards a little too seriously indeed.

I've seen personal attacks hit from nowhere, mistaken assumptions, conclusion jumping and the ever favorite just because I don't like you anymore animosity.

I'd hate to think a new writer that shows promise would give up
because some a-hole w/ a keyboard knows how to push a 1.

I didn't really get trolled till after I was a little more established. So many trolls are nicer to new writers? Or maybe I just didn't notice because I was so busy being overwhelmed by how many people actually liked my first stories- it was a total shock to me.

You just create another persona/username to submit under.

Whenever you want to use that persona you'll have to log out of the first one. Just closing Lit won't do it. Use the Log Out at the top right corner.

I hit the log out on the top right corner and all that did was erase my davidwatts cookies.

The alt I created exists but I can't get past my davidwatts page to get to it even after backing out of Lit entirely and coming in fresh.

My trying to figure out a computer reminds me of showing my father a VCR for the first time and looking at the expression on his face.

I don't know if they're nicer to new writers.
I think as we submit more, and meet other writers on here,
we develop a 'fan base' of sorts. Also, we become more visible
on the radar. I noticed I get more votes quicker since I started
posting in the threads.

Try coming into Lit by a different route. Use one of the other links from the main page to get a log in page. I don't have any experience with an alternate screen name but this happens to me when Lit goes down for maintenance and I get the same page after it's back up.

You might try PMing Ogbashan. I know he uses an alternate personna for some of his stories and might be willing to help you. Og is a good guy.
