Since this seems to be a day of venting, I thought I'd share one of my personal peeves.

Why is it so hard to find matching bras and underwear? There are racks of bras on one side of the lingerie department, and racks of underwear on the other, with barely anything on one side matching the other. Since underwear needs to be washed with greater frequency than bras, I prefer getting at least five pairs of panties to match each bra, so that way I always have a matching set in my drawer. But using this criteria eliminates half the lingerie out there. So are the majority of women walking around mis-matched, or did I miss out on some basic trick to finding the matching lingerie section?

Independence day!

Now is the time for all good women to declare their independence from this tyranny!

From this day forward you should vow to go undieless until this travesty of fashion is rectified. *secretly hoping it never happens*

Nothing matches like....well, nothing.;)

Skin on skin...

I'm very mismatched. When I bother with panties, they are cotton, Jockey for Her, and durable. The damned things are expensive anyway, so they'd better hold up to repeated washings.

I've a prominent chest, so I buy good bras. The ones I buy -- Wacoal -- seldom have matching panties anyway; if they did, I certainly couldn't afford them. It galls the heck out of me to spend $250 for only four bras, but at least they are good ones and they do last.

I suppose there is a reason to be coordinated under one's clothes, but in my experience I seldom stayed in the underwear long after it was unveiled, and no one ever said "God, I love the way your bra matches the thong! And is that color teal or emerald?"

I'm pissed about the damn costs we have to pay to look decent and feel comfortable. I think the women's underwear market has us by the...the something and it annoys me. I wish there was some way to reduce the costs. Men don't have to pay that much for boxers or briefs, why should we? Oh sure, I can buy less expensive undies, but they never last like the good ones. Sad, the whole thing is sad.

The most liberating moment of my life was when I said goodbye, forever to slips and petticoats. Remember those? No "decent" woman would go out without them.

One day it was about 105 in the shade, and I had been out of the office getting lunch for the troops. I was dying. My dress was light, but the slip did NOT breathe, and it was just too much. I went into the ladies' room, took off the slip, and stuffed it in the trash.

It felt so good, that I threw away all my slips that night, and never wore one again.

When hemlines dipped again, I got rid of the pantihose, too. If I am going someplace where I absolutely, positively have to dress up, I will wear stockings. They are a lot more comfortable.

It really is silly to wear a complete ensemble under one's outer clothes, particularly in a reasonably temperate climate. I rather wish that the old-fashioned tea gown would make a reappearance. A lady could remove her corset, yet still receive guests. Quite often, they buttoned down the front, were made of thin, soft fabric and lots of lace, and were designed to accomodate a gentleman caller with limited time at his disposal . . .

Those were the days.

CL I have a dress like that long with a million little buttons down the front with a silk lace (hand made) coverinng. I got the material in Thailand and had the dress made.

I will wear a slip to tease someone. Remember those old movies where the women wore slips to sleep in and seduce men?

The whole matching bra and panties thing is just another way to make you spend your money. I have yet to hear a guy say he cant wear those boxers cause they don't match his tshirt.

Matching? Oh shit, why didn't anyone tell me sooner?
I've been doing it wrong all this time. How about contrasting? Is that okay? I can do that pretty good. *sigh* I just suck at this girly stuff.

Ya know, its such a pain in the ass as a cross dresser too. They just don't ever seem to match my boxers. :D

My Ex-girlfriend used to be mismatched more often than not. However, when she was matched...well, I knew what was about to go down... ;)
