Sexual hypocrisy, indiscretions, and blackmail have been part of the political power game forever. What gets me is the fact that people continue to think they'll escape its consequences.

It's as though the people who have the arrogance and idealism to think they should be involved in making the rules can't imagine that the rules will ever apply to them.

As a mild disclaimer, I'm tired right now, so I might not be making sense in this post but...
It doesn't matter what political party you're a member of...that determines if you're going to be kinky or gay or whatever. I'd assume there are republicans that agree with the republican format in some areas and can't bring themselves to say "Oh, but I don't agree with the conservative sexual thing...because we all have our sexual quarks when you think about it". It would not only out them but also mean they weren't totally following the republican format. There are kinky republicans. They just can't come out and say they are kinky. They'd never get re-elected by their base.

Is this right? I don't know. I'm conservative, but I don't call my self a republican. But, if you want to go into politics, they want to know your party leanings and such. You have to decide on a party, and that usually means you go with the party you "mostly" agree with. There isn't a party that states you're kinky sexual nature doesn't have to follow your political nature.

And no matter what your party connections, once you get up the ladder a bit in politics, there's always someone out there looking to bring you down. I'm sure it's got to be tough for the kinky, the gay, or just the strange sexual fetish political official to go out and get some strange...without any worry of the day after backlash.

His judgment? Yes, I agree, he was just stupid to think the woman wouldn't say anything. I don't know if it was someone he knew for very long and she just decided to come out with what he enjoys doing to her, to get back at him, or if he was REALLY stupid and just met this woman and decided to get kinky with her.

We're all human, no matter what our political leanings are. Who's to say what someone's sexual indulgence should be, no matter what party you're a member of. does that make you a hypocrite? Maybe. And he could be one.

Once you get up the political ladder a bit, you really have to choose your sexual partners with some deep thought. Either that, or you just don't indulge in kinky sexual fun.

Okay, no more foolin' around. Here's my straight view on this prick.

Bruises + DNA + a trip to the cops = every Top's nightmare. Under normal circumstances, I'd say let's wait to hear all the facts, innocent until proven guilty, maybe she's disgruntled and lying, blah blah.

But wanting to make gay sex illegal in Missouri is more than a "political leaning." It's a despicable stance. If this guy is a closet perv, does that make him an outrageous hypocrite? Not "maybe." YES.

How people like you brush this sort of thing off so blithely, I will never, ever get. The door to your own closet must be shut awfully tight.

And with regard to Netzach's point - true, he could actually be a rapist. In which case, he's obviously worse than your typical Republican hypocrite.
