I have a question, do you think the BDSM life style is perverted or just something that makes you...you?

Just curious...

It seems to be becoming much more of an accepted lifestyle, but anything outside of the percieved normal boundaries of society is considered by the mass public to be a perversion. That being said there was a time when homosexuality was considered a perversion. Obviously that was a wrong belief and now as society evolves our views of bdsm will become more and more mainstream.

I agree to the point where it is becoming more mainstream, but there are a lot more [eople in todays society that still do not accept homosexuality. Look at the fact that gay marriages are still not legal.

It's amazing how much things have changed in the past 20 years as far as sexual kinks are becoming more acceptable, but i think deep down inside we will always be looked at as different or perverse..However with that being said, most of those comments and ideals are coming from the same people that make our laws, and effect popular decision...

-shrugs- This could also turn into a religious debate, but I'm not going to be the one to start that.

perverted?

it is just what makes me, me. there is alot about the lifestyle that is not my cup of tea. but hey if it works for you and no one gets hurt. go to town

I vote BOTH

I'm with you.

My upbringing tells me it is perverted, my sense of self tells me it is normal.

So which is right? Both? Neither?

There are two schools of thought. The vanilla world will probably tell you we're perverts. And, I have nothing against that word, really. I know some of my sexual thoughts and ideas are a little over the top. I have no problem agreeing with that.

But, just because we're perverts doesn't mean we aren't friendly people. I mean...think about it. We don't go around flaunting our perversions...At least not until we are asked in a polite manner. At leat that's how I am about it. But, once I've been asked, I hope you're ready to hear all the glorious details.

Now, I've known about my perversions for a long time, now. Ever since I was up in my bedroom with one of those nasty smut mags that showed helpless naked women, all bound and gagged...and you don't want to know where I had to go to get such a magazine, in the mid 60s. And, at my impressionable age, too.

But, what I"m getting at is...I've always been this way, for as long as I can remember. So, it might be a perversion, but it's also just me.

Lots of really good posts!! Thanks for responding.

Presonally I guess it can be both...and I guess I am both and you know what?

Thats a good thing as far as I am concerned :)
