I call this "A closer look" and have dabbled a bit with a couple of story lines. Any authors who want to use this for their stories are welcome so long as they give credit for the artwork.

And you forgot the part where if the artist agrees to let you use their work, to include a note in the text of your story acknowledging the creator of said art work.
