I can't think of another book that comes anywhere close to making the olfactory sense such a vivid part of the reading experience.

Or Foucault's Pendulum, by Eco.

hi Hamletmaschine I've read too Le Parfum of Patrick Süskind. An excellent book... they didnt change the caracter name, they still call him Grenouille?

They are suppose to make a movie with this book.

I have heard that a movie of the book was supposed to be made, but that was a long time ago. I don't know whether there are still plans for a movie version.
