Perception of moods on Lit forums.

Just a quick question.

I'm fairly new to using the forum a lot so I might have this wrong, but a couple of times in the last couple of days I've got PM's from ladies on here assuming that I'm horny because I'm online. I'll admit it can be a reason I log on, and even when I'm not particularly in the mood the right image or certain messages can lead me in that direction. But other times I log on just to pass time.

Is this a general expectation of people who are online are horny or do some come on to pass time?

That actually made me think, when I thought horny, I was thinking of the physical aspects of it, whereas the PM's were probably referring to the mood you've described.

As the others have observed, people have all sorts of reasons. I enjoy the fascinating parade of humanity that troops through these forums, and the well-written stories, and the pictures of sexy men.

To your point about assumptions, many men on Lit hit on women like they get a Euro for every PM they send. It's easy to make a sweeping generalization that all men do that when you've seen so much of that behaviour.

Do what makes you happy and remember the delete key exists for a reason.

I have this same problem with the women in the isolated blurting thread of Harry.

They pretend to hate you in front of others but are sending private emails filled with explicit passion.

It can be confusing, but I enjoy the private photos!

I've been reading lit for years, but only started coming on the forums recently. Mostly here to play games (now I've found them) and chew the fat.

Any additional PMs or Kik messages from ladies is a bonus, and I couldn't just shoot off PMs at every woman on here. That just comes across as rude and intrusive.

This is an interesting topic though. I never came here for any sort of real life interaction or mutual PM diddling. I only ever came here to express some creativity in a space where the ethos was "create whatever you want, don't be an asshole* and don't hurt anybody".... *entertaining assholes could earn favor.
