People who only follow one author (me)

I've had a few new people recently who've favorited me, and who have no other authors favourited. They're not new users. They haven't favourited any of my stories. That's unusual (for me), and made me suspicious. Is that just paranoia?
I don't think my latest stories are that special (although they've been getting quite high scores).

Are other authors experiencing anything similar?

I don't know. For the record, I follow 0 accounts and I'm a real (well-meaning) human being, so we do exist! I suppose, more than anything, it is a compliment: your stories inspired them to follow one of their very first authors. Rejoice!

Thanks to a specific troll from years ago, anyone noticing that would suspect those people are sock puppet accounts having only you as a fav while a lot of the readers here have faved half the damn site.

I know that's not true-at least in your case-but its another of the strange things that happen here.

I have very few authors/stories favs here, and I've been here a long time, but the few I do mean I really enjoyed them. So take it as a compliment, a brag even.

I won't scroll through all of my followers for an exact count but I do have a few where I am the only author they are currently following. I'm comfortable with that.

Stand-up comedian Jason Manford has a bit where he says that, if he were ever really, really rich, he'd buy up all the tickets to a concert, and sit by himself in the front row, arms crossed, and say, "Sing for me." (I don't remember which artist he was talking about, unfortunately.)

I checked my last 10 favorites, and all have other authors on their lists, although one has only 3 and one has only 4.

I get those occasionally. I don't think it's anything to fret over. Most likely they hit the little add icon when trying to check out your profile or something. The ones that catch my eye are the ones that joined today and followed me. I like to think I inspired them to a higher level of awareness, or something like that.

I have only one such follower, and that's the guy who has been behind all the bombings I suffered since August. That's the price for speaking up and doing what's right in this place, I suppose. He started following me when I took down my stories, to make sure he gets the alert when I start posting them again. It's important to say that that was the result of my forum activity, completely unrelated to my stories. I doubt that's the case with your follower.

I've only noticed one poster (still posting occasionally here) who apparently favorited me for malicious purposes--to know when I'd posted a story. It was obvious from what stories/authors they usually favorited that my genre was not one they actually followed. They participated in a gangbang on me on the board and immediately afterward favorited me. Immediately after that an added 1 vote started appearing on my stories as soon as they posted (and before there was time to have read the story). I routinely submit a story every Sunday, so it's not that hard to figure out when my next story will post--usually every Tuesday. I mentioned it here on the boards, and they immediately unfavorited me and the extra 1 vote as soon as the story left the gate ceased.

Other than that I haven't noticed--or looked for--patterns in favoriting of me or my stories.

It's a complicated story actually, one I am not keen on repeating. Don't be too quick to judge.
