If you give money to a homeless man or woman, does that make you a nice person? How often do you offer to help someone struggling with heavy bags? Do you frequently give blood?

You may consider yourself to be a nice person, but according to a new study you’re probably not as nice as you think.

On the list of things that I delude myself about, this is not among them.

I am actually fairly nice. I'll help elderly folks with their groceries, pick up stuff for people that dropped items, let people go ahead of me in the grocery line. I don't donate blood though. That is bad, but I do donate to charities for the homeless and vets often.

Now the caveat is... don't piss me off. I'm not easy to anger but once there, it's over. I don't get even, I don't get revenge. I simply cease to acknowledge their presence. They no longer exist to me.

I tried being nice to people, I really tried,
But I found out I didn't like it.

What saddens my heart is when you do something considerate or to me just using your manners like holding a door open for someone or offering to take their trolley back to the trolley bay and they give you the wide eyed look of surprise or clutch their handbag or man purse.

Next time they will find out that most people think they are above average smart and good looking. :D
