This isn't like other quizes....don't bother getting a pen and
paper...just read

Stolen from elsewhere, but the sentiment is true.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
3. Name the last five winners of the Miss America contest.
4. Name five people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer prize.
5. Name the last five winners for Best Actor and Actress.
6. Name the last five world series MVP's

How did you do?

Now here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. Name some teachers who aided your journey through school
2. Name some friends who have been with you in difficult times
3. Name some people who have taught you something worthwhile
4. Name some people who have made you feel appreciated
5. Name some people you enjoy spending time with
6. Name some neighbors who have helped you without question

Easier?

The point is that the people who make a difference in your life aren't the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. It is the ones who have given you their hearfelt caring and friendship. Let them know once in awhile that it has meant something to you. Sending a letter to an old teacher or email to a relative/friend or inviting your neighbor to lunch is not that hard to do. Take the time and make their life as meaningful as they have for you.

While I've seen this before, I second the thoughts and emotions.

Its awfully easy to get caught up in the here and now and miss the bigger picture. Stop and smell the roses, maybe even take one home to someone special.

This is so true. I always make sure the ppl I care about know exactly how I feel. I enjoy making them happy.

I loved this. It gave me a warm fuzzy on a rainy day! :)

I really needed that Tony. Thank you.

Cept there is one famous person that has my pussy in knots!
And that is a pretty significant influence. ;)

I will have to remember that the next time I hear someone talking about famous people being role models.

I tell my sons all the time, on the tombstone after you are long gone... what will that dash between the beginning and the end mean to anyone that knew you?

Be careful what fills that space. It is what you do in your lifetime that says how you will be remembered and dictates whether you are remembered with a smile or with a frown.

Good thing you bumped this up, Lazer... It's a wonderful post, and an even better sentiment.

Thank you Tony.

I've seen something like this before and used it as part of a lesson for my Kindergarten class. I had the children draw a picture of a person they most enjoyed, or helped them the most, maybe someone who made them laugh a lot, or who made them feel special about themselves. It was such a fun class. The children went wild with their drawings and had lots of fun with it as I did, too. Sometimes when you're working with the little ones, you see so many things through their eyes. It makes you stop and think about what's important.

Anyway....have a great rest of Thursday and have a wonderful Friday, all.
