People familiar with Dan Simmons' Hyperion series, get in here!

I re-read Hyperion not too long ago and now I want to go back and re-read the Endymion books. The problem is I don't feel like reading Fall of Hyperion. I'd like to skip it and get to the later books but I really don't recall what happened in that particular novel. So I need someone to give me a summary. I need spoilers, plot twists, the ending. I've been all over the web with no luck. Hopefully someone here can help me out.



*I've got an identical thread running over on the General Board as well. Hopefully, I'll catch someone who's read this book recently.

Man, that series is pure joy (and ironically enough it will be mentioned briefly in the new story I am working on) - I'd strongly urge you not to skip any books or you wont get the same effect again. Personally, I reread them every 2-3 years, but have such a horrid memory, that they all blend together in my head.

If I remember correctly, that "Fall" climaxes with the mass destruction of the idealic world for some sinister reason. Whether it was to take out the poet or the prophet or Raul, I cannot remember. Almost time for me to read them again.
