At a seminar of penetration testing (pentesting) I was reminded once again to a series I think was called Coupling. A woman explains she is part of a service that checks if men are faithful to their partner. They come in and try to seduce the man.

A guy asks her how often men reject her advances. Her quizzical answer tells him that no man does.

I feel there's some good stories to tell here. Penetration testing. The obvious one is a service as described. Men or women that try to seduce someone's partner to see if they are faithful. They are more than escorts. Sex isn't guaranteed. The conflict of the story is that they aren't successful in their seduction until they are. Do they need to be caring, or bullish, or just listen with a smile? How much do they need to do to seduce the target?

More levels can easily be added. Maybe a couple knows about the service and sees a game. They order them, throwing curve balls at the people. Their best friend seems glued to their side and seduction is a package deal. Maybe the partner walks in during the seduction, or if they go to a secluded place, it is an apartment right above where the partner works.

What would you see as a good story with pentesting?

If law enforcement pulls such a trick it is called "entrapment" and is frowned upon by the court system. As long as you could avoid that sort of overtone, it could make for a fun story.

I LOVE this idea, especially the idea of husbands being seduced by pros in the secret employ of their wives.
I've often fantasized that my wife would send some pro to try and make me cheat, or to prove I wouldn't cheat (only to be distraught when I fail). I've even been consciously-deluded enough to think at times she was trying to throw her friends at me as a kind of test; "Why is her friend flirting with me so boldly, why did my wife leave me alone with her friend in her apartment?"
The best is if there are consequences to "failure".. a punishment or a fallout in the marriage, something.

It's a very hot concept. Write it and I'll read it.

Thanks! I hope you like a long wait. I'm a slow writer with several projects. I like your view on it with friends of your wife staying behind.

Out if curiosity, entrapment seems one of the lesser crimes on lit. Stalking, incest, non-con and more are daily occupance. You could have some interesting stories with entrapment (I'm nkt planning any right now).

This was a theme of a episode done by the show Silk Stalkings back in the 1980's. Basically a con artist has very sexy women do all they can to sexually test men to see how faithful they are to their current loves. Mostly it is done by wealthy father-in-laws to be to ensure the son-in-law they are about to get by him marrying his daughter is morally strong. But in the show, the women doing the sexual testing start ending up murdered.

My memory on TV shows 40 years ago is not great, but I think the murderer was the father-in-law and not the man who was about to lose it all because he gave in to the sexual testing... but I might be wrong.

Obviously that was a detective type show all the while staying as close to soft porn as possible in a national syndicated TV show in the USA. But the subplot was regarding the moral implications of the sexual testing.
