Pennsylvania just enacted legislation today that enabled anyone over 18 who applies for a driver's license to be automatically enrolled as a voter unless they choose to "opt out" of the process. There are certain qualifications to be met, of course.
These so-called "motor voter" laws represent an existential threat to Republican "Block The Vote" initiatives in the state.
A new wrinkle: People with drivers licenses changing their address at the DMV now automatically cancel their existing old address voter registration and enroll again based on their new home address.
Rightguide and teh usual suspects will be along shortly to bitch and moan as they are wont to do. Perhaps HisArpy will entertain us with his legal opinion on the possibility of non-whites (aka "undesirables") voting.
