Whats the average sort of time story's are in the 'pending' state.
Are there differences for different story's, in different category's?
Whats the general rule on these things - or isnt there one?

I've had one up for almost a week, it's usually gone faster than this.

Now I have three things up, the one that's there for a week (story) has been read four times but nothing else.

The other one up for a few days hasn't been read at all.

The other stuff I've submitted has usually always been approved in less than a week, so this is new to me.

Word has it that the multiple contests are slowing the process a bit, and also attracting much of the readership. I have no idea whether that's true, but it certainly sounds plausible.

Well, good, I'm glad that's good for the site :)

Better than "Oh, there are no more editors and they're not accepting submissions, didn't you know?"

*sigh* waiting too

I was prepared for a longer wait as that usually happens during contests, but I do hate the waiting. I'm really bad at it. ;)

Wow, glad I'm not the only one!

LOL Both for the bad at waiting and the lag in story approval. I sent one in on Monday, fully anticipating having it up by now, but nooooo... I was getting worried. I'm thinking that the contests being the reason for the lag makes sense.

Good luck to all and I look forward to reading your stories.

Patience is alleged to be a virtue, but I've always believed that the only good thing that comes to those who wait (or waitress) is $1.40 in nickle and dime tips.

:)

Well, let's all wait together. *taps fingers impatiently*

What are you submitting? I have two pending stories, one in Erotic Couplings, one in BDSM.

Two romance stories, one non-erotic poem.

Nada, alas. I have some bizarre hangup that dictates I can edit Litster's stories for free, but that I can write only for ca$h--preferably, lots of it.

Heh, I've got that backward.

I'm paid to be an editor, so this is just for fun.

Me too, but it's for an academic publisher. Half the books merit their ink, but the others are "Socio-Economic Implications of Abberant Shoelace Knots upon Middle American Family Norms: 1790-1820." Lit is welcome escape on THOSE days.

*nod* Mine is all medical, which I actually prefer to fiction. I used to edit for Simon and Schuster...but although there were some really good books occasionally (wouldn't have met Tess Gerritsen's work any other way), I would bang my head having to slog through "Dawson's Creek" and "Moesha" fan fiction.

Or correct the spelling of "Jesse Ventura" all the way through a book on professional wrestling...

Anyway, I like medical better. I don't end the day feeling that I've contributed to the destruction of a culture :)

I know what you mean. I feel great about the positive work. When I'm dealing with pointless arcania that's inspired by "publish or perish syndrome," I just remind myself that it won't cause the planet to fall out of orbit, and that no more than three people are going to read it anyway.

Wow. I'm paid for...neither. :p It's all just fun and games to me.

Never forget: fun + games = good
fun + games+ money = mo' betta

Well, it's not like I'd complain if someone did pay me :D

My poem just got approved.

The story that was submitted before it is still pending, though.

So there is some progress being made :)

Yay you :)

My BDSM story has two more views. That's about all that happened.

*off to read your poem*

I didn't mean it was approved yet, I just meant that it got two more views but is still pending.

You're welcome to read anything else of mine though:)

Recidiva, I think I'm in love with your poem. I'm not an expert on poems or anything, I can't tell you in technical talk what makes it so good, but I'm reading it over and over again. It's really enjoyable.

Thank you!

I love words. They're always there and sometimes other people go away and I have to entertain myself :)

Mystery solved. I couldn't find it, and I was beginning to think "they" were hiding it from me. (Practicing paranoia makes for perfect paranoia.)

Lol! :D

I'm a bit scared about that BDSM story anyway. As much or as little as it may mean for someone who writes smut, I feel like I poured much of my dark, twisted, perverted side in it... and I'm nervous people are going to look at it and decide that I'm just kind of sick. Ah well.

Just read my erotic couplings story instead once they're out, willya? :cathappy:
