This is for nothing else but the sole purpose of wondering why an edited entry must still go through the pending process if it's already been approved once before. Just curious... :)

For all they know you've stuck a few new paragraphs of underage sex with animals in there. ;)

But the whole situation sucks the big one. You keep hoping nobody reads the bad one before the correction goes up. It takes forever, man. I sympathize.

Well, it's not that this version is bad. I just made a few slight additions to it and changed the description, but still, I can't stand the waiting...

Mine was, I left out a big chunk in the middle. That correction HAD to go up, and it hung fire for days. Ended with more "views" than the original.

Glad it's over.

Nope, not I. It's harder to hide that in poems than it is in stories. ;)

Thought you poets were good with metaphors and symbolism and stuff? Oh, I get it, ssshhhh.

Mary had a little lamb
Its fleas were hot for mutton
Everywhere that Mary went
She got bitten on her button

Is that close?

Crap. Now how'm I supposed to be able to read to the nieces & nephews without cracking up laughing? (I don't even want to know what you'd do to Little Boy Blue)

Actually, he doesn't really inspire me. Now Mother Goose, she might be a different story. Suppose she has any daughters?

Well, I'm hoping the same will apply to mine, if it ever gets posted. LOL!

I dunno. She always seemed more the 'spinster aunt' type to me. ;)

You can't blame them for taking the time to check the animals I.D. to see how old they are.

When I've resubmitted it's been only to correct typos and formatting. I say that in the note, even point out where, and they get put up right away.

Perdita

Perdita has the right idea.

To affirm what she said, I pointed out an edit like she suggests a while back and it only took a day or two for the correction to be made.

Thanks for the tip! I wish I had done that when I resubbed my holiday story. It's been pending since last week. My original took 5 to 6 days to go up and the edit has taken almost that long. I will be patient... I will be patient... I will be patient. Or, at least I'll try!

I want to commiserate and pat you reassuringly, sympathetically, avuncularly, and all I see is that ass! Damn! Wrong thing altogether for the sympathetic uncle.

There, it'll be just fine. It may wellbe up tomorrow-- *pat, pat*-- surely it can't be much longer-- *pat, stroke, pat*..."

I've only ever submitted one edited version of a story... NEVER AGAIN!!!

They fucked it up so badly I have to delete it, which means losing all my votes and rating on it.

They merged the new and old story together so now it reads as two stories in one. grrrrr

I was seriously pissed off when it was submitted, because it took me hours to edit :(

Why does it take two weeks to have a story removed?

I am beginning to think Laurel and Manu are vacationing in the Bahamas....

For the rest of the year.

To venture a guess - Possibly because there are far more people waiting to have their stories posted and that is a more pressing issue?

Either way, this is a free site and, personally, I am far too grateful to them for creating this lil community to be irritated at a wait. Then again, I've only once had to wait 2 weeks for something to post. Maybe that has something to do with my attitude. ;)

Yep, try submitting something to someone when you want payment for your story. It can take months before they even get back to you, and more often than not it's with a rejection slip. If they are interested in actually publishing your work, add on another few months.

Yeah, I know it's a completely different arena from Lit, but even comparing like for like, Lit is damn fast to post new work. Much faster than me, for example, I sometimes take months and I don't pay the authors, either. (That will change soon - sorry folks!). ;)
