Does anyone on here have a pen name that they go by all the time?

I'm beginning to think it might be wiser to go by my real name around here, partially because I'm looking to get discovered, and partially because my name is sort of... Well... Appropriate. It looks more like a pen name than my pen names, especially in this genre.

If I ever get up the nerve to submit my one novel anywhere, I will use a pen name. I've even got one picked out already.

I usually write as me, but that work has yet to be published. This one website I submit to, I use the same pen name (Quiet_Cool) and people there seem to identify me fairly well.

I guess it really depends on what you're going to do. For privacy reasons, and due to family, I already have a pen name. (that's only for erotica I submit to magazines)

The children stories that I've written with some incomplete, I'm going to stick to my real name.

I think this is for the best in my opinion.

That's why I created "Amy Sweet"

I wanted a pen name that connected to my smut writing personality here on lit  but that sounded sort of like a 'real name'- for submitting elsewhere. I haven't done so yet- wait yes, I have "Coming Together" our anthology project. Hopefully more to come in the future.

I also have a pen name ready for *romance* *children's/young adult fiction* and *regular fiction/nonfiction* (whatever that means) regular fiction will be a variation of my real name (of course!), children's will use initials (so boys and girls will hopefully both read it  ) romance will be a variation of my real name that I think is 'romantic sounding'- the reason for a pen name in romance is so that I can write outside the genre as well.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I also have (am working on it's perfection) a pen name for my pagan writings to avoid the terrible fate of being burned at the stake (or worse, everyone I know avoiding or attempting to convert me)

Ah- er, so...

Short answer- Yes.

That's a brilliant idea. Different names for different genres so you don't get pegged into just one. I like that. I'll be married before too long and my last name really will be Smith, so maybe I'll use my maiden name to write under: Angelique Bushway. I told you it was "appropriate."

I've never used a pen name, but should the need arise, I think I would probably go with Dezi Monroe.

I'm going to write a childrens book under a pen name, but other than that, and on here, I go by my real name. I also go by Boota in my band, although I don't know how long that will last if my book gets me anywhere. I'm thinking maybe Boota Cougar Mellencamp.
