Peep Peep Peep

Trust one of Georgia's prestigious schools to have a study on Peeps.. LOL.. Sorry, I'm not making fun.. Just that my good friend goes to Agnes Scott and she always tells me how good a school Emory is.. This should bring up some interesting topic conversation.. But.. I'm rambling.. So.. I'll shut up now..

I let 'em sit out for a week or so and then use them for paperweights. Don't know WHY they're in with the food, though, in the grocery store. They're cute as hell, yeh, but not something anyone should eat. Definitely inedible.

Hehehe I like them :) I just can't eat too many of them.
I saw some really cute snowmen ones the other day at the store :)

I am opposed to peeps at anytime of year other than Easter. Is nothing sacred? If I could have those horrible little marshmallow things anytime I wanted, they wouldn't be so damn cool!

I love 'em stale.

And the chicks are colored with food coloring.

Peeps - try them toasted over an open flame. You'll never go back to nibbling your paperweights again!

you know.. real chickens really, really love peeps. it's kind of gross, to feed chickens marshmallows shaped like chicks, but they like them and it keeps them quiet for 5 seconds :)

hehehe no not really :) i have chickens as pets, and they love marshmallows. actually, chickens will eat almost anything.. kind of like goats. and they happen to really love peeps, but a friend of mine pointed out that it's gross that i feed my real chickens candy shaped like chicks..

sweetvee....

Do you use the eggs from the chickens?...or just have them running around like the little monsters they are. I think you spoil them with junk food, I am calling the SPCA and PETA, this must stop.

:p

Nope, we throw their eggs away. A waste, I know, but they are free range chickens, plus my family doesn't eat a lot of eggs in general. And my chickens are the most spoiled creatures on this planet! They love their lives, hehe, and their junk food! I mean, when you're a chicken.. you get pleasure from the little things in life, know what I mean? :)

I bet they love the munchy food. I cant really picture a chicken chowing down on candy, I bet it is hysterical.

...and yes, the simple pleasures for chickens. Otherwise the only pleasure is that they didnt get eaten today.

My chickens will never be eaten!!

They are part of my family, just as a dog or a cat could be...

This is one of my hens, Jill. She's adorable huh :)

Look at the legs on that chick

I must admit Jill is cute. I have zero experience with chickens as pets but she looks like she has some personality.

Are they affectionate?

Yes!! Chickens are soo cuddly.. you wouldn't think it, but they really are. They have long necks and they put them over your shoulder to "hug" you. It's adorable :) And when you pick them up, if they trust you of course, they snuggle against you.

And they have such personalities! Jill, for example, is a quiet, shy hen but she is very cuddly and also very spoiled. She is the leader of my flock - at the top of their pecking order. She's such a sweetie; I would never have to worry about her trying to peck anyone.

hmm I just realized that anyone reading this thread is going to think that I'm insane. Oh well, maybe I am :)

How many in your flock?

regarding insanity.....I have long conversations with my dog so I am not going to judge. Somehow he always has good advice for me, but his breath is awful.

(this thread had been offically hijacked)

I have three in my flock right now.. I had five but one was a mean old rooster that we donated to a farm, and one hen was attacked last year and she died during the surgery..

Oh no.. you're totally right! This thread is so hijacked.. oops..
