PC 'sound' help needed, please!!!

I've just had a computer virus and reformatted my pc, but now, although it's fine otherwise, I have no sound. I've installed the sound drivers, but still nothing. I'm completely stuck

I've got Windows XP. Thanks in advance.

does Device Manager see your sound card, without any issues?

have you gone in and adjusted your volume properties?

Will it show up as the exact words 'sound card' in device manager? I can't see that but I can see 'sounds, video and game controllers'. I forgot to mention, I'm totally clueless, lol

I found the very thing. I now have sound. Thanks again
