PBS Poll: 95% Oppose Gun Control

Why does the RWCJ think all dems and libs are against guns? And why are cons voting on a public service site they constantly try to shut down?

I have guns

but if I had to tell the law that I had them I would rather get rid of them. If the law knows you have them, when they come for you, they come harder.

And no, I am not paranoid. The war on drugs has me squarely in its sights, while the war on terror is taking even more of my rights away.

Only a fool would think it couldn't happen at any time.

So I do listen to PBS and I would have voted no more gun laws.

Well worded, still bullshit and anybody with half a brain knows that is bullshit. I remember even a good chunk of the the RWCJ here said they wouldn't mind stricter gun control back when this was an issue.

Well, that's good news, I'm glad we can all agree on something.

I'm for changing/revising the 2nd amendment - not to make guns illegal just make it easier for regulation and restrictions on them and ownership of them.

The fact that the chances of this happening are slim to none and slim just left town and if 95% are against me still won't make me change my position.

So Vette tell me again how Iran should have nukes or admit you mean a majority opinion on the 2nd.

You're welcome to your minority opinion.

Yeah, and that's the thing. I'm cool with that. Sure it bugs me when I see another school shooting and shit go down and I wish more people would be proactive in changing attitudes towards guns, but I can accept that it just won't be that way, most likely for the rest of my life...but yeah I'll stay with my minority opinion all the same.

There was a time when I'd say: You're American. You ARE paranoid. Look at all the countries with heavy gun restriction. They're much safer places than any place in the US. You are too selfish just thinking the government will take YOUR weapon instead of the much bigger one from the criminals. Some people I 'd claim to have a sane mind even think guns protect them from government. If that's not paranoid, I don't know. All I know is: weapon manufacturer profit from you paranoids.

Now I think a little bit different: you've got a shitty police. You always wanted them to be limited. You mistrust them, like you mistrust anything government, and the government behaves like that. I wouldn't say you need that self defense thing, but I understand you prefer it.

I still think most Americans still get something wrong: every of your solution against criminality is a solution the criminals got, too. Every, except one: you can call the police. They should have the power and the knowledge to act with criminals in a professional way.
Off course, this can't work if any shithole drug gangster got the ability to be armed 100 times better than the whole police of his county. I understand more and more why the police is acting with such brutality: there seems to be no other way to gain respect.

When I was in Venice, Italy last month, I've watched a gorgeous scene: 3 criminals running away from the police. Three (in words: THREE) policemen stopped them, with just holding their hands as a sign: you can't pass.

When I was in Munich a few days later, I've watched a scene much like the Eric Garner one: ten policemen try to arrest one black man who did.....well, they couldn't/wouldn't tell. He survived that, but people laughing their ass off because of incompetent police acting. (Munich police is known as the most wannabe-American in Germany. I never watched a scene like that in Berlin...)

Thing is: the Venice police got respect, as they REALLY got the monopoly on violence, as it should be, and can handle it professionally. Munich is known for having even private militias - off course, police must be more "police-like" to earn some respect.

The Nazi's had a similar monopoly on violence, as did the KGB, and the Stasi. We understand why you love it so, but pardon us, we're Americans.

I'm talking about the police, not a party, not the government.

Our police still got the monopoly on violence.

Which is why the freedom to own and carry firearms is crucial. In my State you can carry anything that you legally possess concealed. It makes cops rather polite.

No kind gun control will stop crazy people.

 What kind of simple deranged mentality is that? If we have gun control less crazies with guns, genius. I believe there's crazy dormant inside everyone, and all we need is anarchy/no rules/no regulations/no control to become those crazy people you talk about. And not everyone who shoots someone is crazy. Sociopath who hates people and doesn't value life, sure; psychopath, not necessarily.
