Is anyone familiar with the way Paypal works with other applications like Facebook and Blogs and personal websites? Is the FB app. only for donations and non-profit? I've only used it for eBay and I'm getting ready to offer my services (non-writing related) via the internet. I'm trying to decide which venue would be the best place to do that from.

Also, does Paypal sync up with Skype? It was suggested that would be a good option for some clients.

I'd appreciate any advice, expertise, or suggestions you have for me.

Thanks! :rose:

Try the paypal site.

Zeb, the site wasn't too helpful, but I did find some answers. :)

Now I'm debating Google Voice or a pre-paid phone. I really don't want people knowing my phone number. I wonder if they would be willing to download something like Yahoo Messenger which has a voice chat option that is free or do Skype if they want something more intimate and face-to-face. Lots to think about.

BTW: not a phone sex service or anything like that. ;) *laughs* It's for my Spirit sessions.

I can't help you with paypal, but we use google voice pretty regularly. It's great.

Tat, is it safe, secure, private? I read some reviews saying it's secure, except that google now has all of your info and knows your activities. However, doesn't it already with Google Earth? I just want to be smart about it.

Someone else suggested Vonage or Magic Jack. I definitely have some options to look into, plus I have to build my blog. I figure I'll go with a Blog format for now and move over to a proper website as I build clientele.

Oh BTW, the stink bugs were pretty much gone from my car this morning. We had a good rain last night and I'm wondering if that had anything to do with it. Didn't get over to pick up any essential oils yet. But have those ideas on reserve.

I kind of think that anytime you use technology you're opening yourself up to this. It's a tradeoff, but it's been worth it for us. Mr. Tat telecommutes to work a lot, and he uses google voice to call into conferences to avoid using his daytime cell phone minutes. He uses the google number as his work number, so if he happens to be at work on a particular day, the calls forward to his work phone, and not his cell.

As for security... technically, he isn't supposed to do anything over a wireless network or phone line... so pretty much everyone in his company breaks the rules on a daily basis. Good times. Just--shhh!--don't tell the US government!

Yeah, I can imagine that they didn't want to traipse across the yard in the rain.

The only thing the other book suggested was pyrethrin/pyrethrum (a pesticide made from dried chrysanthemums), which should be used really, really sparingly, as it can be nasty stuff. And since you live on a farm, I'm not so sure it's the best idea, as it can kill ladybugs and other do-gooders. :( I've owned some concentrate for close to five years now, and I've only used it once.
