Trump Administration to End Protections for 58 Million Acres of National Forests

The Trump administration said on Monday that it would open up 58 million acres of back country in national forests to road construction and development, removing protections that had been in place for a quarter century.
On Capitol Hill, Republican lawmakers are currently writing a plan to sell off federal lands as part of their domestic policy and tax package. The effort has drawn an intense backlash from Democrats, environmental activists and some Republicans.
Teddy Roosevelt is rolling in his grave.

He's made a start by paving over the WH Rose Garden and erecting the 88ft tall flagpoles.

That’s a big no to selling 3,000 square miles

A plan to sell more than 3,200 square miles of federal lands has been ruled out of Republicans’ big tax and spending cut bill after the Senate parliamentarian determined the proposal by Senate Energy Chairman Mike Lee would violate the chamber’s rules.

Western state Republicans opposed it anyway:

Lee’s plan has revealed sharp disagreement among Republicans who support wholesale transfers of federal property to spur development and generate revenue, and other lawmakers — including GOP senators in Montana and Idaho — who are staunchly opposed.

If the global air supply depends on temperate rainforests like it depends on tropical rainforests, we're fucked.
But see it doesn't depend all on the rain forests. It depends on forests in general. The more trees we have on this mud ball the better we are no matter what designation you give them. Do you think any given tree in the Amazon absorbs more CO2 or puts out more oxygen than a Redwood or Sequoia? Yeah.

Then any forest could safely be replaced with an equal number of fruit trees! :)

And just where are you going to find 300' fruit trees? Are you intentionally using Trumpian logic?
"Wolf Hounds are dogs and Chihuahuas are dogs therefore they are equal in everything".

Uh, hu, yep, absofuckinglutly.
