I never liked his pee wee herman character. Thought he was to fake. Guess thats what little kids like tho. As for Buffy the vampire slayer...I love that movie!! I've watched it many times and yes the death scense rules...But my favorite line is. I'm a vampire I can do anything....and buffies response....oh yeah clap? Grin that movie so ruled. I watch the new buffy series but not really into it that much. Angel which is on after it seems better. This new buffy seems to complain all the time which is annoying to me. Oh well getting off topic. I don't have a firm opinion on him. Know he got arested for lewd conduct or whatever in that movie theator and thought it was pretty sad that the media made such a big deal about it. It's one thing to arrest the guy but do you really have to tell the entire world about it? I really think we need Freedom of Privacy to go along with Freedom of Speach.
Ravenloft, baby!!! I thought you'd pulled an EOD and dropped out of sight for awhile. Glad to see you're still here!
And as for Paul Reubens.... Pee Wee's Big Adventure is the one and only movie that I will watch time and time again, every time it's shown on HBO, Showtime, etc. I've seen Titanic... once. I've seen ET... once. I've seen Pee Wee's Big Adventure... I dunno, maybe 50, 60 times. It's not hilariously funny, but for some damn reason, I just can't get enough of it. Nothing else that he's ever done, from the Sat. morning series, Big Top Pee Wee, etc., comes even close. What do I like about it? "I'm a rebel, Dottie, a loner..." When you hear a guy like Pee Wee Herman say this, it just cracks you up, you know?
One of these days I'm gonna tape the damn thing and watch it until it makes me puke, I'm sure! Until then... I'm just gonna keep catching it every time it's on, revelling in the simple, content feeling it gives me after every viewing.
I wasn't so much a fan of his movies, but his stand-up act could kill you. He would make some appearances on "Late Night with David Letterman" once in a while, and bring his stupid toys with him, " Here's my gorilla, HAHA HAHA"
I loved his Saturday morning thing, too bad he was fired for nothing.
Paul Reubens was the Penguin's father in "Batman Returns."
And here I thought I knew all his movie appearances! Heheh! Thanks purple! I would have never thought to look for him in a batman flick! Damn it now I have to go out and rent that fucker just so I can see!!! HEheh!
"Tequila", anyone? Now I got that song in my head, and the vision of Pee Wee Herman dancing in a biker bar.
Guess what I'm renting this weekend?
Oh, I forgot about "Cabin Boy", another comedy I've watched over and over. I loved Chris Elliot in that movie - it's so stupid, it becomes hilariously funny. He was so groaningly funny as an audience member in the NBC Letterman shows, he became the only reason I watched it (why doesn't Letterman ever bring him back?) I also liked him in "Groundhog Day", but I hated the idiotic "There's Something About Mary", along with his performance in it.
Does anyone know what he and Paul Reubens are doing these days?
Well from what I've read Chris Elliott is going to be apart of a series called 'Cursed' that should come out later this year I believe. He was recently in Nutty Professor 2 in a small part and the villian in Snow Day plus he is the voice of Dogbert in the animated show Dilbert. He also has a part in the animated movie Osmosis Jones coming out next year. As for Paul Reubens, I heared he was signed to emcee a new game show based on the 'You Don't Know Jack' game. Don't know if this started yet.
I loved Paul Reubens in Buffy the Vampire Slayer(You ruined my jacket. Kill him alot!)and realy wish he'd get more work in comedies these days. He was realy funny in Mystery Men as the Spleen(If you want to see my power, pull my fingers!)but other then that he hardly ever gets any good parts anymore. Paul Reubens is great but to me he will always be Pee Wee Herman(I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel.).
I have come to the realization that Paul has a nack for sneaking into movies without most people noticing...
First its buffy... Huh? Thats him?! No! It can't be!
Than its Mystery men... Your joking right!?
Could it be because i've got the image of him dressed up as Pee Wee burned into my brain as what he looks like normally?
I kid you not Ravenloft. Rent mystery men then check the credits at the end and it says right there that it's him. I recognised him right away but it took me four years to realise that was him in Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Paul sometimes pops up out of thin air into these movies. lol
