I created a Patreon and am trying to set up the support author feature. Issue is when I paste the url in I get a message its not in the right format and check the Faq when I click that and look at the example, the link I'm using is correct.

Is this a glitch, does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I'm copy pasting this so I know its correct.

No expert here, but I've had similar trouble when the first part of the url was https, and it should have been http. or vice versa. If it's one of those, can you change it to the other one? I honestly can't remember which one is correct.

Both their example and the link I'm putting in are Https, its identical. I can't see an issue that's not on Lit's end as far as I can tell.

Now I'm wondering where there example says user id= etc in it, is the issue my patreon doesn't have my lit user handle in it?

The FAQ actually provides some useful information for locating these IDs for the sites that are allowed.

That's what I suggested to LC that got him on the right track. Patreon dashboard -> Embed Widget where you'll find your unique user number.

Look through your dashboard for something that allows you to create a button/banner/whatever on a blog, website, etc. to "become a Patron". That should have a copy/paste link. In that link, you should see a number —possibly preceded by the letter u, as in u=3814558

I don't have Patreon, so I'm working from Googled resources here.

If I go to anybody's site that has a patreon button, I see that number in the middle of the link displayed when I hover over it, and it's preceded by u= in every example I can find.

I know this is late but I ran into the same issue and just found a solution. View your page as a user (not creator) and on the URL you'll see your user ID (a couple of numbers), use the format they request: https://patreon.com/user?u=[user ID #) and that should work
