Here I sit on New Year's Eve....ALONE!!! uggghhhh.

I'm doing laundry. Who does laundry on New Year's Eve? Oh yah...me!

Yes, I may be a smidge over-dramatic. SO!!! I did make an attempt to plan something but it fell through. So here I sit trying to decide whether to go downstairs and clean the entry hall floor. I swear I only worry about dirt when I'm lonely, sad, or feeling hurt. hmmm...interesting.

Instead...I made my own thread where I can sit and have a lovely conversation with myself. :D

Lesson #1 ... How to be your own best friend

I just finished doing the dishes, single Dad's have no life either........ :D :D

Judging by your post-count, you're actually spending NYE with old friends in perhaps the safest way possible. Not all bad, huh?

PB, to risk hearing the same thing over and over again, (at least you have your wife). We didn't make any plans either and lok were I am? On Lit. I've actually been chatting up a freind several thousand miles away tonight. So we get to keep each other company.

PB, we can be pathetic together, okay.

I was invited to a party...... me, three couples, their kids. That sounded worse than staying home alone.

I'm NOT doing any cleaning though, if cleaning is required, I'll have to leave you alone.

Wife? I have a wife? *looking around my apartment* When did that happen? Did I miss another memo? DAMMIT!!!

I am doing laundry and taking down Christmas decorations.

Like you, I begin to worry about the finer points to housekeeping when lonely or frustrated.

My date is snowed in 150 miles away and here I sit alone.

Well, not really alone....I am in the company of you fine people!

Thanks lit! xoxoxoxoxo

You only have to clean if you a bit obessive and like to use it as a distraction so that you don't hurt.

If not...pull up a chair...I'll make popcorn. :D

pulling up a comfortable chair

Does red wine go with popcorn, or should I open the other bottle?

My post-count. This has been brought up several times. I should explain how it got to be so high so quickly. I was unemployed and very lonely when I found Lit. I never realized how much of working is also social time. So when I was done job searching for the day...I came here and posted and eased the ache some. I also came to vent, to ask questions, and to learn from others in a safe environment. Asking the sort of questions that are asked here doesn't happen often in face-to-face encounters. Notice I did not say RL? <-- If I'm here does this mean I'm living a fake one? hmmm...

Wow, I'm gald I'm not the only one who doesn't have plans tonight. MG, same ehre- all of the palces I've been invited to, I've been invited to by a couple. Not my idea of a good time. I'd rahter sit here alone chatting with people than being out, feeling likea third wheel and being miserable. I was actually relaly upset before, but I'm starting to feel much better (maybe it was the Blackhaus?)

Well I'm allergic to alcohol so I'd be happy to get you a wine glass but I'll have to stick with coca cola for the evening. :)

How do you like your popcorn?

Ugh- please, don't bring up post count! If you do, it seems like I have no life IRL!!!

BTW...yes, I think this is possibly the safest way to ring in the New Year. Even if I did have plans it would not be to hang out in a large group...outdoors. Maybe I'm paranoid but it still scares me a little after 9/11.

I'm here and reading a training manual! It didn't sound so bad until I actually typed that sentence!

BUT, I'm not alone, I have my dog.

It just gets more pathetic doesn't it!?

I bought one of those AI puppies to keep me company. He whines a lot so I just use the on/off button. :D

PB, do you remember what I was doing when the 9/11 "incidents" happened? where I was at? Talk about someone who was scared of what was going on!

I totally understand what you're saying I really do. But you all are right, this is a VERY safe place to be.

Oooohhhhhh....Your wife! Whew! I thought something weird had happened there and I missed the whole thing.

:p :D :p :D

maybe I can talk her into that whole bi thing, and you'l have that wifey yet, babe. You never know what the new year will bring.

Except I don't think I want to be bi anymore. Can I do that? Can I decide it just isn't for me? hmmm...so many questions...so little time.
