i have to tell you my horrifying experience this morning so you can be grossed out, too. 91 year old friend had an appointment to have his ears examined because his hearing has been even worse lately. the ent dr. put him in the chair, looks in his ear and says "you have a wax buildup." he's had that before because he always has his hearing aids in, i guess the wax can't escape. so the dr. takes an instrument that looked like a long pair of tweezers, digs in and pulls out this object the size of a cigarette butt, mainly black. even the dr. goes, 'wow, look at that.' i'm about to faint and fall off of the chair, friend goes, 'oh my god, was that in there?' and the dr. says, 'yeah, let's look in the other ear.' same routine, same result, only now i'm ready to puke. the dr. jokes and says, 'i should open my own candle factory.' i can't get it out of my mind and every time i think about it my stomach turns. but, friend is hearing better, so there's that. and my ear canals are itching.

I can't stand earwax. I am a nurse and have seen about everything. Ear wax just grosses me out for some reason. That is how I found I was pregnant both times. I was helping a friend who was a dog groomer. I had to clean the dogs ears. Made me want to puke.
