Twenty-one hundred bucks? Ouch, that made me recoil more than the 8-year old getting a circumcision thread.

I am a cheap bastard. I might have dropped as much as fifty bucks once or twice counting cover charge, a couple of beers, and tips to the dancers. I usually do not get a table dance. I let one of my friends get one, and I join in on the tipping.

Of course I haven't actually been to a strip club in a long time. The last memorable time I went I spent more money tipping the pizza girl who I thought was hotter than most of the dancers in her tight, black and white stripped hot pants.

Sure, the girls are sexy and all smiles when they are dancing for you, but knowing that what is in my back pocket means more to them than what is in my front pocket sort of chills me off.

Still, it does not deter me from my day of one day hitting the lottery and founding a home for wayward exotic dancers and cheerleaders. Nor in starting my foundation to provide breast augmentation to women need. Anything I can do to help with someone's self image and all.

Was it worth it? I can't quantify that.

I think my time spent in the strip club was just...depressing. I felt bad because the girls on stage were moving and stripping but you'd look at their faces and they just weren't there...I think it was the most depressing thing I've ever seen. I just felt a bit weird in the situation - don't think I'll go back again.

There used to be a place in Revere, MA called Tom Caruso's. It was allegedly owned by the local organized crime boys, and it was closed down when the owner was found to have a criminal record (no liquor licenses allowed for felons.) The place was the dive of dives. It was where old strippers went to die; a boneyard for exotic dancers.

Maybe junkyard would be a more appropriate word.

I went with some friends, and tried very hard to avoid an aging dancer with bruises up the inside of her legs who was trying very hard to get me to notice her. Thankfully they had Latvia hocky on satellite to distract me; I told her I needed a few more beers to get in the mood. People, there wasn't enough beer in all of Milwaukee to get me in the mood that night.

One dancer still had stretch marks from the baby she had just a few weeks earlier. Her body had not tightened up yet either. You have to admire a woman who is willing to get right back to the job to support her family.

There was one black dancer talking with a sleazy looking white guy in a business suit. They were working out something for the back room. He was probably just some old guy who caught a case of Jungle Fever. Hopefully for her he wasn't a vice cop looking to make a good bust. Then again, a good bust is one thing that she did not have.

By the time the group of us left we were not all that much poorer. The beer was cheap, and frankly so were the dancers.

We frequently went over to the strip clubs earlier in the evening, because we didn't get hopping until after 2 am. And every time we went, we did it with the intention of partying and having a great time.

Most I have dropped was about $1200, after a great weekend behind the bar with cash burning a hole in my pocket. Knowing my experience, I can only imagine what $2100 must have been like.

Where i'm at in South Carolina, there is a huge strip club called Platinum Plus. There are more clothed women in there than dancers, most of them are straight ( three shots of tequila fixes that problem), and certainely look better than three quarters of the working girls. The drinks are expensive and they gives out change in two dollar bills, forcing you tip more. I'm going back to Atlanta (Is Club Nikki's still open?)
