Te quiero tanto, yo deseo que usted sea mío. Nuestro amor sería tan dulce, yo le besaría todo el tiempo.

¿Quién tu quieres? ¡Si el deseo es tan violento, mi hermana, va lo obtiene!

Por favor, translate? my Spanish absolutely sucks...

Spanish is the loving tongue
Soft as music, light as spring
It was a girl I learned it from
Living down Sonora way
Well, I don't look much like a lover
Still I say her love words over
Mostly when I'm all alone
Mi amor, mi corazon.
-Bob Dylan

"Who is it that you want? If you desire him so much, my sister, go get him!"

I actually just used an online translator and made up a quick little rhyme to post, just to be weird and see what would happen.

But I think it looks pretty in Spanish:)

I tried to use the translator to put it back to English, but it came out all gobbly.

I'd love to learn spanish though. I don't know if you can teach yourself. Has anybody learned spanish (besides HS or College classes) who has a method worth trying?

I have a friend who speaks Spanish, which would give me a speaking partner, but I think it transgresses the bounds of friendship to expect her to 'teach me' just because she's a native speaker. I have learned a few terms just from being around her though, since she speaks 'spanglish' quite a bit.

Spanish, to me, was probably one of the easiest languages to learn. It has VERY definite rules, unlike English (none of this "except for" shit).

Jumping in feet first is the best way to learn it. There are tapes/books available with lessons, but they're costly. Maybe take an adult education class, or volunteer to help teach english to immigrants there? Just being around it constantly teaches you more than you realize.

"I want you so much, I desire you to be mine. Our love would be so sweet, I would kiss you all the time."

We have books and tapes at the District Library. I also have a great program that used to be on my computer, but it's not any more and since we got internet, it sort of fell by the wayside.

How many languages to you speak cloudmiester?

It sounds like a magic spell to be used with a candle-burning ritual, lol.

Spanish, Danish (not quite fluent), and working on Cherokee at the mo. :)

 (edited to say- Cloudy, you translated it in rhyme, too!
I LOVE Spanglish, i think it's so sexy. I'm around it a lot, but no one will slow down for me to learn it!
Classes plus immersion, is the best way.

Am reminded that I used to know a few interesting phrases in sign language... such as, "Why don't you come over here and sit on my lap?" and "I want your body now."

Well... hmm, I find I can still sign "I want your body now"... but I can't imagine where I would use that skill now that I realize I still have it...

:)

I used to have a GF who signed fluently. We would go into leather bars, and run into groups of gay deaf men. They would be so happy to talk with her!

That has the makings of a good story: Roving deaf leatherboys. :D

For some reason, they won't let the upside down question mark and the word be on the same line . . .

Hardest thing to learn in spanish is the 'sex' of everything... we don't believe in the neuter.

It pisses my girl off too 'cause she asks me 'well, how do you know if it's male of female?'

Friends of mine fucked with our high school classmates by telling them that since 'spanish speakers' were mostly catholic, the church had a book of 'sexes'.

Sincerely,
ElSol

Actually...

You also mixed formal and informal... it's not as important to the younger generation and in some countries.

But to the older generation and in some countries, it's consider offensive to address someone in the informal who is not... (insert your latin bias here).

For instance, my girl knows better than to address me in anyway but the formal.

I'm an older male, thus it's required. Just like as a young pup, I got slapped for using the informal on aunts.

sincerely,
ElSol
