Tim: my 18-year old son, who's secret motivation behind what he asks of me is partially influenced by his two friends Mark and Steve.

Mr. Channing: mid to late 40's, handsome, a bit arrogant, but unaware of just why my son has asked me to dress "a bit sexy" that evening.

Mark and Steve: both 18, who have convinced my son Tim go along with their suggestion, but have their own secret agenda with a prank that will lead me to a very embarrassing "wardrobe malfunction" in front of everyone.

Ever since my divorce last year and the subsequent makeover I had, the comments I’ve received from friends and strangers about how much I look like the actress Lisa Rinna, have been constant enough that for the most part, I would smile or laugh. But it should be noted that until I started getting the comparisons, I’d never even knew who she was and did not intentionally set out to match her look and style.

But the biggest surprise came recently when my son Tim – who is 18 and a senior in high school – recently approached me asking for a favor. The Parent/Teacher Night at his school was a few days away and Tim told me about how Mr. Channing, his Biology teacher, was “out to get him” and flunking him on purpose. Tim suggested that for the Parent/Teacher Night that I dress “kind of hot” and “a little bit like Lisa Rinna” for that evening so that Mr. Channing would “forget about being so mean.”

Part of my surprise came from the fact that since the divorce and that I moved us to a new community away from his old friends for his senior year, Tim has been very moody and I feel a bit resentful of me. The other surprise was him mentioning Lisa Rinna. I’m aware that Tim is a bit awkward – nerdy, if you will – and I wasn’t aware of his perception of the similarities between Lisa Rinna and myself that so many others seemed to share.

Nonetheless, I didn’t like the idea of a teacher singling out my son for no apparent reason, especially since Tim has always been a very good student. So, on the evening of the Parent/Teacher Night, I decided to wear an outfit that would get Mr. Channing’s attention and allow me to have a talk with him about just what was going on. I told my son Tim to go ahead to the school’s auditorium where the event was being held and that I would be there shortly after.

I choose to wear my long sleeved, white cashmere sweater with the top button of four open, which allows the top of my perfect (and paid for) cleavage to show. My black lace and satin bra is just a hint of an outline through the delicate white cashmere of my sweater. The cute black pleated skirt I have on is stylishly short enough to show off my legs in the dark nylons and my just-below-the-knee black high platform heel boots I have on that match my skirt. I've teased out the ends of my highlighted short hair, my mascara a more darker touch, and an extra glossy layer of my favorite pink gloss to my enhanced lips.

Confident that my looks and outfit will have this bully of a teacher Mr. Channing’s attention when I arrive for the Parent/Teacher Night, I leave my home determined that I will be able to find out just what is going on.
