Hey all- I hope someone can help me here. About a year ago I got some free panties from VS during a promotion for their cotton panties. They are REALLY soft and the elastic doesn't fray or cut into my skin. The only problem is that they are expensive. Does anyone know where I could find some comparable ones in another brand that might not cost so much? I tried Hanes Her Way and they aren't as soft and the elastic frays. Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure if this is what you want to hear, but anyway... From talking to a friend who works for VS and a couple of other lady friends, part of the reason that VS' products are so costly is that they really do last a long time.

Does that explain that entire cost? Of course not, clothing has one of the highest mark-ups of any consumer good. The point is that those panties may be very expensive, but they should last you a long time.

From my experiences, with panties, as a general rule, you get what you pay for. However, in the long run, it's worth the extra money. Better made panties last longer, are more comfortable, and perhaps more importantly, looks good longer. What you could do is order Victoria Secret's panties when they are having a sale and stock up. Furthermore, you may wish to explore other quality lingerie retailers such as Frederick Hollywood or La Senza (which is Canadian, but they do ship to the US and they have frequent sales) for their sales.

wanted to say that in my experience, frederick's panties are not at all as comfortable as the comfy victoria's secret panties.

i've had the same pairs of VS panties for over three years, and they're still nice looking and comfortable feeling. i think they're well worth the money.

if you can hold out, wait until one of their new-years sales.

I'd try to find out what type of cotton weave they are, because that determines how soft they are. Then google for others of the same weave.

I've bought several 6 or 7 packs at Costco over the years. I'm not sure if they still have the same brands or styles, but I've found them to be extremely comfortable and well-made, even though they're very inexpensive.

If you have access to Costco it might be worth a look and try. The best thing about shopping there is you can take anything back for a whole year, so if they seem great at first but don't hold up over time for some reason, you'll get your money back!

Nope, I've never taken them back because they've worked great for me. If they didn't, I'd take the receipt back, and they'd happily give me a refund, though. I've done that with fruit and milk products that went bad before the date.

The exceptional return policy and customer service are two of the main reasons I shop at Costco so much. I respect a company that stands behind its products.

The best kept secret in lingerie is womens boxers, I wear them exclusively now. They may not fit everyone's life-style though. I wear skirts to work mostly and sweats around the house, ( also had a full hystromecty several years ago). Give them a try, I can't imagian wearing anything else, I feel sexy and comfortable in them.

Yep, La Senza "ultra soft" line of panties are the same nice fabric as the ones from VS. They frequently have sales but you can usually get 5 pairs for $25 CAD when they are regular price.

If you must wear something, Gillian & O'Malley from Target are good. I don't know if they last for years though as if I do have to buy them I like to buy new ones at least yearly.
