Hyperbole...

...or is Obama's DefSec putting the administration on the spot?

Because, if the Islamic Republic of Iran's cyberattacks are as potentially serious as 9/11...

...can Obama do anything but order a preempting military attack?

And...

...as long as he has just cause, do a couple of bigboy hits on their nuke enrichment facilities while he's at it?

Read the article for what Panetta says...

...and then you tell me.

Some Arab oil companies got their computers messed up, and I'm supposed to be all panicky about another 9-11...I don't think so.

No way do they ever attack American soil on 9-11 again...

:nods:

We killed Osama. They are all done for.

Remember a couple of the goals of 9/11/01...

...to hit American hard economically, and to instill fear so much so that government would enact draconian legislation, thereby eroding liberty?

Worked-out pretty well for the terrorists, huh?

If you read the article's coverage of what the cyberattack did to the Saudi's computation ability...

...imagine this:

A intrusion into the American Social Security computers - including all back-ups - that erases all files containing the records of all Americans who receive all forms of SS benefits...

...how big of a clusterfvck would that cause?

No intrusion could access all the backups. Backup data is transferred to hard media and stored elsewhere.

So, when Obama's choice as DefSec says "This is a pre-9/11 moment"...

...it's just hyperbole, then?

if it was up to me, i kill them all.

put it like this, let's just blow iraq out the map an call it truce

Ten years.

So, that's 100 billion a year...

...currently, isn't the defense budget approaching 700 billion a year?

Which would mean - under the sequestration - an annual defense budget of almost 600 billion a year?
