All about Giant Panda - The 3 Million Years Precious Creatures
Panda usually living alone. Each panda has its own home kingdom. A male panda's kingdom covers an area of about 6 - 7 km. But he wanders in only about half of it each month. A female panda's kingdom covers about 4 - 5 km, she usually concentrate her movements in the "Inner Palace" which covers about 0.3 km only. Female pandas often designate their "Inner Palaces" with odors that forbidding other female invaders. Within this "Inner Palace" area are some old hollow trees which serve as a natural delivery room. The female panda gives birth to cubs and raise them in there.
Pandas are vegetarians. They follows a very peculiar menu - 99% of its food is bamboo.
The pandas seem to walk slow and unsteadily, but they love movements.
They are good in climbing trees and enjoy it - To have a sunbathe, to play with each other, to have a gros view, or to escape from the enemies and dangers, even to make love on the tree.
The youngsters (less than 3 years old) are "Happy Boys." They like to climb trees as a favored Sport, to roll on the ground, ski, climb up on mother's back to glide or play with her.
The panda is addicted to water. Often to be "Water Drunken". Even in cold Winter, It will walk a long way to find a running stream or unfrozen spring. Once find a water, the pleased panda would take a good drink, It drinks until it has difficulty to move its legs. Then the panda lies down beside the stream, unwilling to walk away.
The panda is very gentle, like a shy pretty girl. At the first sight of people, a panda covers its eyes or bends its head; so called "Miss Panda". It seldom attacks other animals or man. When met by chance, it always avoids fighting.
During the mating season - March to April - the male and female pandas violently flirt with and chase after each other. Once the love affair occurs, the two lovers will living together until the female is pregnant. Then they will say good bye to each other, and return to their solitary lives.
