Painting Toenails, Shaving Legs....

what would you men do for your women? I've only had my fingernails painted once by a guy I dated, but I thought the fact he did it was so sweet.

However, I've never had a guy wash my hair, paint my toenails, lather my body in lotion.... those are the things I want..... that I wish would happen more than him cooking me breakfast in bed.

And, just as a sidenote, I'd do just as much for him- like a whole body massage, or a scented full body rub...

do men like this exist or am I in a perpetual state of disillusion?

Oh wow, that's so true. I've dated only one guy who was into brushing my hair.. I think the reason I stayed with him so long was because he did this. Sounds so superficial, but it is so comforting. I can only remember my mom brushing my hair aside from that one guy.. and I have long hair. I love the feeling of that, the guy sitting behind you, you leaning between his legs as he brushes the length of your hair, his fingertips sometimes brushing the sides of your cheek as he gathers the hair in his hands.. mmmmm.. nice.

I would do all of the above... except for the nail polish; I really don't find nails all that important to the over all beauty of a woman.

Although, there is one catch... she would be restrained the whole time. When I bathe her, when I brush her hair, when I cloth her, she would be rendered physically helpless in one fashion or another. Why? She's trusting me with her body already, by letting me do these things, but I want that trust to be symbolized in a more physical way... that, and it gets me off.

Of course we exist, Vixen, and your list could be much, much longer - in fact, though there are things I might not do well enough to suit the recipient, I'm hard-pressed to imagine what I wouldn't do for somebody I cared about. I've no doubt that I am not alone in this, you're evidently meeting the wrong guys (and lately I may be meeting the wrong gals, too, though I've made some wonderful connections here which don't seem to come to real-life fruition...)

Sharing is the means to nurture and strengthen the bond.

Once I am in a relationship there is pretty much nothing I won't do for my partner. For my ex I used to do things like bathing her, giving her massages, washing and brushing her hair, cooking her favourite meals, writing stories for her, and breakfast in bed on a daily basis. I would take the kids to the park early on a weekend morning so that she could get a couple of hours extra sleep.

She loves roses so I planted her rose gardens (anyone can buy 'em guys). I checked out her favourite authors and got her thier latest releases. I put together CDs of her favourite music, and folders of her favourite poetry. I also gave her space when she needed it.

Making her happy was great... on the whole if she was happy I was happy.

This thread made me stop and think. As much as I've been bemoaning my hubby lately, he does many of these things for me. When I lost the a lot of the use of my right arm for a time, I let him shave my legs once. He loves to brush my hair, and gives a tremendous back massage. He rubs my feet for me on occassion too. Now painting my nails is another story...I'm really picky about that!!
