And true to another rule of magic, all of the books I have read have changed me in some way large or small. They’ve helped me see the world through different eyes, like a Vulcan Mind Meld. They’ve transported me to foreign lands as if through teleportation , and helped me to be in two different places at once, is in astral projection. They’ve helped me to grow and to see a world beyond my own door. And by doing so, helped me to appreciate the one just outside that door. Like the heroes in Harry Potter, I have learned to see the magic that was there all along, but hidden to the eyes of the unaware and uninitiated.


"is in astral projection" still seems awkward there. Possibilities could be "like an astral projection", or "afloat as an astral projection"
