Pagan Corner

There's a lot of good info out there, but why don't you start with Selectsmart.com's "What relgion are you" quiz?

It has several pagan paths, buddist, etc on it's quiz. There is also a What Pagan Reglion, and What Kind of Wicca? quizes.

When someone joins my little group here, I usually ask them to take it first. Not so much as to tell them, but as a way to show them many kinds of paths in a easy to take format.

I'll forgive you, C2C, coz your a nice man but the left a bad taste in my mouth. Another way of wording it would have been nicer.
Careful PS... it wasn't Curious who made that post, it was Kassiana. She actually said she didn't see you as someone who would do that...

In my opinion though, Christianity has borrowed so heavily from various pagan religions to create their own, aside maybe from the concept of hell, that it does become blurred.

Like I said before, from what I can tell, your path seems to be working for you... it doesn't matter what religion we are.

Totally my bad, I posted way early in the AM, having been woken up by heavy allgery attack, so my eyesite and brain weren't up to snuff.

But I still didn't like the way it was said. It implies that one way has the truth and another way has to steal. Which goes against my basic belief that all paths are good if they lead you to the divine.

Heh...I have had days when I look at a post and read it totaly wrong too.

I ordered that book today PS...should behere in two weeks.

Image...could you Pm or e-mail me about the sword? I am...heh...curious about some things.;)

But I still didn't like the way it was said.
--The point was to portray what OTHER Pagans (than myself) would say about people who combine Christianity and Paganism. Yes, it IS offensive. But it's also true. Other Pagans I know DO think that Christians who do this are just bored with their own religion and thus need to borrow from Paganism.

The point, however, was not to offend, but to give an accurate portrayal. I had thought it was obvious, but even wondrous Goddesses like myself can be mistaken. So I hope that clears things up.

For general Pagan information that's fairly informed and not preachy, I'd go to www.witchvox.com .

Spirt animals

I have had the most glorious two days as love, visions, and signs go. Tuesday night I was holding my girlfriend deep in my arms. We were spirtualy connecting and making love with just are thoughts and souls. I told here my spirit is her's for eternity and gave it to her... A few moments later lost in my thoughts and mind, the spirit of the white wolf appeared before me, I heard a great howling the wolf dissapeared. I have always felt connected to the wolf as a totem animal (howl at the moon) but this is the first time I have seen one in a vision. It was magnifisent. That night while I slept I was suddenly awakened by a single ring. It was extremly lound and echoed through my head. No clue what it meant but kind of tripped me out. Then as I was preparring homemade salsa yesterday a ladybug showed itself to me, (have not seen one in 4 or 5 years). Since June 7 I have had many signs appearing to me, more since I have met Pollyjean. Some I can decifer others I am having a hard time with. So if no one minds I will start posting them here and maybe one of you would like to help me. I would love to hear your words on the ones I have just posted and what you possibly might think it means.

Have a great day all :D

Curious... I can't do PM's or e-mails... That's one of the concessions I made with my husband to be able to post on Lit, and he still doesn't like it. (But if you notice my other posts I'm able to get as graphic as I want as long as it's by myself; Translation = I'm on A LOT of masturbation threads :)

Anyway, I really am interested in the athame and sword forging... and that titanium?!? Isn't that like a really rare or precious or expensive metal? I am showing my ignorance here...

:( Well...I can understand that. My wife knows I post here...she doesn't really care either way...but that is a long story that I am not interested in getting into at the moment.:)

Hmmm...how to make a sword for you and then get it there...I will have to think on this.

Titainium is not so much rare as it is difficult to manufacture. I worked in a pulp mill that had tons of titainium valves and valve stems. When we would rebuild a valve, quite often the stem had to be replaced. Usually these old stems became pry bars or other tools made for workers in the plant. I had several lengths of several sizes when the mill shut down. They let me take them with me since there wasn't an use other than for scrap for them. Perfectly good and clean, no contaminants or anything of that type...just waiting to be made into something.

I could buy some too...it isn't that espensive in solid round stock. I would like to make you a sword and/or an athame...no attachments other than a spirit gift.:)

I surely do not want to intrude on you or your husband. Perhaps sometime something will work out for this to work.

:)

Wow... you would do that for me?

I have been on this path for 27 years in this life (I suppose really for 1000's) and have been seriously studying for 12 years. I only mention the time factor because I want you to know how long I've waited for something like this.

I have yet to acquire an athame... because I believed one would come to me in a meaningful way someday... (ie. wasn't going down to the local "Witches Are Us" bargain basement kinda place :))
You know the magick IS the witch.. it's intent, not what fancy dress and makeup you put on...

New friends are surely made from the strangest of places... don't you think?

Remember what the discussion was a few posts ago? About a group consciousness kinda thing? No matter the Personality manifested in this life, the immortal part of us, the Individuality (that is to say the part that goes on, In other words, our souls) cannot help but somehow reconnect to those that have been with us in the past...

Did I never tell you about my group reincarnation theory?

That 'group consciousness' thing you or rather all have been touching on has a meaning for me at this time in my life. I have felt certain things about my past that I couldn't just quite put my finger on and now it seems to be opeing up like a rose in the morning sun.
I have mentioned that I have always felt a closeness with metals and smiths and the like. I knew my great grandfather was a smith in the 1890's, I just found out that his great grandfather was a smith in Ireland. This seems to 'fit' with me in ways I cannot explain.

I would be interested in hearing more about your 'group reincarnation theory' too. I will bet that it would help me to explain certain things in my life as of late.:)

I would be honored to be the way or path for you getting an athame and sword. I believe that you have much you could teach me that I could not learn from books. I have felt that my natural 'fit' is that of a smith/Shaman or Priest. Certain people seem to 'stick' out to me here and there and I feel that my purpose is to fulfill a need that they may have. Difficult for me to explain logically or simply. Just a feeling and an inclination of mine that is driving me. :)

It is difficult to explain logically... throw logic away when it comes to matters of the spirit. Spirit operates on another plane. Logic is part of the physical plane... I really believe that you are coming into yourself and as odd as it may seem, part of it is through the internet... (Hey, 1000 years ago, if you were a peasant with a Bic lighter you would have been made KING)

I am so into hearing about this smithy connection you have with your ancestors.... I'm not big into past life recall but I'm interested in your introspection for your own.

Hmmm...well here is a tidbit of sorts. When I was around two years old I used to gravitate to metal toys. My parents never thought much of it...just a baby really. One time I was at the ranch with my grandparents and my granfather noticed that I would only play with steel or metal objects. It didn't have to shine or be painted up...I was playing with rusty old horseshoe's one time...I just liked the feel of metal.

When I was about five my grandfather took me up to the old grainery and got out the forge. He stoked it up and just watched me as her heated up some metal. I was free to walk around. He noticed that I headed right to the anvil and grabbed a hammer. (the hammer weighed about six pounds and I was having one time controlling it.)

I waited at the anvil, watching him. He said it was like I knew what to do without being shown anything about it. I even told him the metal he was heating needed a bit more 'color' to it before he took it out.

I had to have gotten that knowledge from somewhere. my parents never even knew how or why about metal. My grandfather knew some, but his father had been the smith. My grandfather was a wise man beyond his years too. He talked to me and learned that I instinctively knew that the metal had to be so hot to forge, and at a different temperature to anneal, and different temp yet to harden.

He never told my parents until years later. He would let me forge and work steels out at the ranch. I was eight years old when my father 'caught' me working the forge. He was sure that grandpa would be angry with me for messing with those 'antiques'.

Grandpa had been letting me use them for three years by that time and by myself when I was seven. (Amazing that I never burned myself or the grainery down is what my father and mother told me.)

My Greatgrandfather had never gone to church. He used to 'worship' on his own in his shop. My greatgrandmother told my grandfather that his dad was a believer in 'other' ways and religion.

my great grandfather had notes from his great grandfather, in Gaelic. He could read them, but nobody else could. My grandfather said that his father used to work the forge and talk to himself a lot too. Never knew what was said...just whispers I guess.

All this took years for me to learn about. Much of it after my grandfather passed on to the next plane. I have no doubts about why I am interested in smithing. None at all. Just would like to know exactly how I recieved the knowledge I had as a mere child. Part of my amazing journey as of late has been finding things out that Inever knew and the more I learn the more it 'fits'.

I know this may sound far-fetched to some people...but I know that this is my truth.:)

There I go...rambling again.

Not rambling my friend... and definitely not far-fetched.

Well, at least to me

Sweet dreams to you Curious...
Talk to you in the morning?

Edited to say...I made my decision on this one. It will keep.:D

Wishing everyone a bountiful Autumnal Equinox!

Happy Mabon All...

A time of balance between light and dark. We gather the harvest of summer and prepare for the winter ahead.

Greetings all...my Mabon was celebrated at work...on my birthday...but even then...it was quite interesting. Since I can't have lit candles in my room due to the fire system, I put up pics of flames over the candles. Seemed to be ok to me. I buddy visited just as I was getting ready and he had some questions about my...um...candle arrangement. I just smiled and let him think whatever he wanted.

I have been reading quite a bit too. Celtic Myth and Magick by Edain McCoy, several by Scott Cunningham and a couple on Wicca, one being 'Wicca For Men' by A.J.Drew and 'Empowering Your Life With Wicca' by Sinora Knight.

All have been quite informing and from them and several other books I have begun to define my path. I feel young and revived as I discover that which has been kept from me for so long.:)

I hope that all had a good Mabon and hope the Samhain will be the best too.

I've missed you Curious  Where'd you go?

Glad you had a wonderful Mabon. Autumn is such a beautiful time of the year in these mountains. We had a great celebration here.... a big bonfire, lots of drumming and dancing! And the feasting was unbelievable!

Your B-day was the 23rd? Happy Happy...

I was gone to work for two weeks. My schedule is two on two off...or somewhat close to that (actual is fifteen days on thirteen days off)

Wish I could have been to the fire and dancing. Sounds like so much fun. Maybe someday I will get that chance and learn new things again.:D

There'll be Magick afoot in the forest tonight!

Happy Full Moon everyone...

Any plans?

If you all would put in a kind word in your workings tonight for my knee (left side cartilage) and ankle (left side tendons) I would be grateful.
