Show me some science. Horned God? Get real.

We are bugs. Bugs have no Gods, only themselves.

I have plenty of science. But there are as many scientific myths as there are pagan and religious myths. Learning about one helps learn about the other.

As to "We are bugs. Bugs have no Gods, only themselves."

I don't see why that personal myth of yours should believed above all the rich concepts and wisdom in the concept of the Horned God.

You have your personal mythology and that's fine, but why begrudge others theirs?

I'm afraid you're taking it all far too literally, and with a huge wallop of ignorance.

Just a manifestation of the male and female principles of the universe... The anima and the animus, the yin to your yang :)

But the Horned god or Pan also represents, acknowledges and celebrates the sexual side to creation!

Hail, Pan! :)

Pan, Loki, Coyote. My bestest of buddies.

Myth? Myth?

Stop calling me stupid. Pan hates that.

You don't know him at all.

And stupid is different than ignorant.

You're basically telling me I should forget all about myths like Jesus and Pan and the Horned God and Huck Finn and every fictional or historical archetype because they're all make believe and they're not science.

Now who is burning books?

Now that is where you lose me. Mythological deities.

Joseph reverenced his ancestors but did not worship them.

He did have his ancestral deities so to speak but he said they were just God in different embodiments.

You're assuming the worship. Companionship is much more my term.

I am warning you. Leave Huck Finn out of this!

The only thing I am burning here is time. You have the right to believe anything you want to, in my Book. I support your Hornie God and all it represents. I just don't buy it myself.

Hello

I've stumbled onto this thread, and so I've decided to say hi and a very blessed autumnal equinox for all...

and do you have any idea how thrilled I was to see these two?

"The Month of the Beginning of Autumn" (Sep.21-Oct.20)

1 Egyed Shepherds, swine-herds and grape guards start their service. It is a "closing-day" at vine-hills: from this day on, it is forbidden to appear with wagons or hooped baskets amongst the vines. Vines are guarded from this day on. They start to flesh pigs. It is possible to tell the weather of the whole autumn period, based on this day's weather.

8 Kisasszony Ancient pagan autumn-starter. They call this day "Swallow-chasing Kisasszony," too, as swallows and other migrating birds start their journeys on this day. In some places it is the day of nutting.

There's nothing to buy.

You're basically doing the same thing as ignorantly accusing a Christian of drinking blood. You're taking something symbolic and trying to make it completely real. That's erasing a huge line between fantasy and reality. You're assuming I don't know the difference.

Belief and worship and faith are not part of my practice. As I'd said, I don't have to "believe" or "have faith" in the moon or sunlight.

Nor do I have to "Worship" the Horned God or the Earth. Those are archetypes. Same as Huck Finn. Lessons and images.

Mythological deities are many and all cultures have them. You do know them, if only the ones you were taught. The stories in the Bible are myths so you do know about Noah and Adam and Eve, etc.

Actually, we don't worship the gods or godesses anymore than we worship the moon. It is more of using the specific characteristics (or properties) of different deities depending on what you want to accomplish or what they reverberate to (according to what's been ascribed to them over the years, if that makes sense).

And in my opinion Joseph is absolutely on the same page as I am... It's just one universal supreme consciousness, with many names. (See above) And of course the recognition that it is composed of a male and female principle for balance...

To me everything is a part of God, however you wish to define that. In order to learn about the nature of God, things are polarized to provide conflict and contrast. But it's all part of the same whole, and the contrast and polarization are magnification and learning tools, not ultimate realities.

I have not accused Christians of drinking blood.

I like proof of stuff. Guilt in beating up a white boy in Jena. Weapons in Iraq. Horned Gods.

You called me ignorant. I only asked you to consider if the tooth fairly was real.

And leave Image out of this.

Yes, the blood drinking thing wasn't to be taken literally. It's a comparison to how I interpret your ignorance about my practice, and put your own assumptions in place, which might have come from watching "The Craft" or something.

Yes, but without proof, you're telling me how I feel and what I think.

Your "proof" is based on your own myth of what you think paganism is. It has very little to do with me.

You could try "Archetype" but then people might wonder if you're a keyboard with wings.
