And at that slightest, most definite, exact moment, if it exists at all, when you can slip between the worlds...
I been reading your thread with an open mind. I do like to understand other peoples philosophies. I just can't grasp what you guys are even talking about half the time. I'm not dogging you guys. Just trying to broaden my horizons.

I'm glad you are... It's really simpler than you think. The more you try to read into it though, the farther away it gets. Think simple connections, to earth and life. Just allow yourself to become aware of what's around you...

Actually, I think you already do. Forget trying to figure out the dogma (nowadays) being attached to it. It just complicates it unnessarily and isn't what it's really about...

Actually alot of what you talk about is very similar to what my friend Joseph taught me

That doesn't surprise me at all...

Earth based spiritualities are similar in most cultures...

I'm used to being dogged :)

Much of this in its own way found me. I'm not sure how to find it. It's just always been there.

I was born with most of this stuff making itself clear. I'm sure I don't understand it either, but it's just real to me.

Agreed.

The thing I have noticed with some people though is they are attracted to it for the wrong reasons. More so young males then females. The males tend to go for it because of what they perceive as promiscuous free sex. Females tend to embrace it for the sense of empowerment it gives them.

For me it's about reality. Recognition of the underlying patterns that rule life on earth. Like the tides, gravity, the moon, the sun. Why things are the way they are. For me it's knowledge and connection.

For many others, it's about power. And I don't play well with them, because that's not what it's about for me.

Yes, knowledge is power, surely, but the entire test to wise use of power is knowing when NOT to use it.

I look at peganism more in a historic context then searching for faith.

I really think all of us are born with it being clear. It's remembering it, once we begin to grow up and well intentioned adults teach us how to build those walls of sanity and safety...

But paganism for me isn't about faith. I don't have to have faith in the moon, all I have to do is be there with her. And the moon is not history. She's right there, right now.

Humans are hated by the Earth. There is no harmony with us. There is no unconditional love.

Global warming is Earth Fever trying to kill the virus. Mother Earth will win. She is a tough cookie.

I'm not certain it speaks to everyone. I imagine you have to have a certain set of senses to get to it.

You may be able to hear the pound of the beat through your feet if you're deaf, but many of the melodies may escape you if you can't hear them at all.

So although larger parts of it are absolutely obvious and undeniable, different aspects require silence and fine tuning.

It's like picking up radio waves if you don't have a tuner. Yes, they're there, but if you don't tune in, and you don't know what a radio is, they're a myth.

Oh, the Earth loves me. But she doesn't teach only harmony. She also teaches fire ants and sharks.

There's unconditional rain and sunlight though. And unconditional hurricanes and earthquakes.

Global Warming isn't going to kick Her ass. It might kick ours, though. And that's our doing.

You are correct. And I would add that people in general through the ages have always looked for the answers, the meaning of life type stuff. For 2000 years the mainstream answer sufficed but now it occurs to more people that there may be other choices. That the mainstream, monotheistic religions are not answering the questions anymore. Or at least satisfactorily...

They are still seeking and once again it's being handed to them. And once again they're just blindly accepting it if only because they see it as anti-establishment...

So yes, many are going about it the wrong way and don't really know why. But at the heart of it, it's still human to seek that connection to nature, to nirvana, to heaven...

I don't think Earth hates us but we are the one species that hasn't learned to live in harmony to be sure...

Anybody ever read The Gaia Hypothesis by James Lovelock? It says exactly that, Peter. Not only about global warming but sees the earth as a total, sentient living organism...

The harm we're doing (while I'm not condoning it) wont kill Gaia in the end. It will be us we've wiped out...

I never said Mother Earth was easy. heh

Seeing the cowboy and Image getting along so well makes me smile. Like peas in a pod.

Bah, we'll be bickering about whether or not the sun rises or sets before this afternoon :D

I love that book.

And I always use the definition of life in his terms. A self-organizing system capable of reducing or eliminating entropy.

She is just trying to seduce me. She hates cowboys but a good grudge fuck goes along way.

Just try the Horned God. It gets worse. Or better, depending on your point of view.

Personally I think it gets better, but I'm partial to dudes.

Show me some science. Horned God? Get real.

We are bugs. Bugs have no Gods, only themselves.
