I have a request .

I would really appreciate it if those of you interested in healing would consent to send me some healing energy Imbolc night.

As i mentioned in another thread, I am doing a major healing ceremony..after our celebration. A woman (suffering from cancer) has asked that I pow-wow for her. I have a healing circle of 4 all ready but any extra energy..be it prayers or sent out at the end of your individual ceremonies would be appreciated.

The original "Witches Flying Ointment," an herbal recipe producing psychedelic effects was originally called green ointment or green oil because it was made from crushed herbs.

Some common herbs used were in the 'Nightshade' family (belladonna) or Solanacea family (Hemlock and Henbane), Datura, foxglove, aconite, monkshood. And somewhere I recall reading that Fly Agaic, the fabled poisonous toadstool was used as well...

The herbs were crushed together with lard or fat (not the fat of babies) and soot to hold it all together. It was then applied to the body where the skin was thinnest such as the wrists, forehead, hands or feet...

And most interestingly the vaginal walls or anus... Now this would make sense since these are definitely some of the more 'mucous membranes' of the human body. You can see where the image of witches riding their broomsticks in ecstasy may have come from. The besom was definitely a phallic symbol disguised as a household tool... And flying was/is a metaphor for journeying or astral travel...

That image could also be the result of witches jumping in the foelds with their broomsticks for fertility of crops ie. the higher they jumped, the taller the crops... but I digress

Anyway , with the usual disclaimer... these plants are poisonous! Annoint at your own risk! *No animal was harmed nor bat blood or baby fat used in this recipe* (Joke people, joke )

1/4c lard
1/2 tsp clove oil
1 tsp ash or soot
1/4tsp dried cinquefoil
1/4 tsp dried mugwort
1/4 tsp belladonna
1/4 tsp monkshood
1/2 tsp benzoin tincture

Using a mortar and pestle crush herbs until powdered. In a small cauldron heat the lard until and warm until melted
Add the clove oil and herbs and mix well.
Add the benzoin as a preservative, stirr together deosil (clockwise) and simmer for 10- 15 mins.

Strain through cheesecloth into small heat resistant container and allow to cool. Store in dry, dark place...

Since she has asked I will do whatever I can in my circle to raise energy for her... how about some Native American flute music? I'm bringing mine with me... That will be sure to drive those demons away and scare small gnome children too

Thank you, lovely one. I appreciate it. We are going to have drumming (mmmmI love drumming) and I will see what i can find with Native flutes...

And Pilgrim are you referring to Freya? She was married to Odin and was probably the most revered of The Valkyries. She was also unfaithful to Odin but often fought along his side at battle...


Why do you think she would fit so well here in Lit?

There are many, many Goddesses of a sensual and erotic nature that aren't so inclined to the warrior side...

And Image...Freya...She didn't cheat on him just once either if I remember right...she used to basicly cuckold him quite often. There was one warrior though...Can't remember his name at the moment...runs in my mind...he hd a dog of some sort too...Hmmm...back to the books again.

I will let you know just how we are going to set up the dates after Imbolc..we are not hoping for complete remission at this point..just cessation of pain.

No, it's Freyja. I looked it up. In this book, her husband was Od who left her so she started sleeping with everything that move, even men. The giants are only ones she refused to do. Dwarfs are fine with her. Unlike other goddesses who have some lovers, she really sleeps around that a wit remarked that she roams at night like a she-goat among the bucks. She's also a warrior because she's the goddess of life, love and dead, for all occasions. That reflect her nature goddess status. Odin's wife is Frigg.

Very fine thread.

Since I have been studying Alexandrian and Gardnerian forms of Wicca for 4 years it seems as if a lot of things are mysterious in todays world.

Like 2 nights ago I felt as if I was spiritually removed from my body while sleeping, it was as if I left my body and Looked down at myself sleeping, this was the third time it happened in 2 years, scarry, it is as if I am a spirit in a material World.......maybe???

I dream of other lifes as if I was reincarnated, that can't be, or can it???
