Oxymorons

Many times those results are achieved with a "walking the cup" technique. The non conductive gas cup can ride on the weld joint and pivot on alternating sides of the weld to give the consistent pattern pictured.

The super consistent gold and blue colors take practice. Heat is collecting on the parts with weld time. More heat, more pedal, is applied at the start of the weld and is slowly tapered off as the weld continues.

:D
Yep, i recently went to a pirex gas lense/collet and screen, taking a bit of getting used to, but visibility is far easier as is turbulence/gas shield and so far lower gas flow/use too:)

Fuck yeah. The lens is worth the extra cash. Nice choice.

I saw a youtube of a Taiwanese welder walking the cup on a big stainless pipe. Big like 18 inch OD. The speed and consistency was remarkable.

Yeah is definately something to practice. I'm far from remarkable at it, well most of the remarks whilst practicing or working are short. Like: Fuck! An Shit! Not Again! Stuff like that :D

Sometimes, discovering the name of a piece can completely change the way you look at it:

Mother and Daughter, Anamaria Vieira

You can see the whole piece here, though I like the part in the picture more than the whole. Maybe it's one of those pieces that works best in person
in it's entirety. Looks like Johnson Tsang works mostly in ceramic. His stuff is interesting, in several connotations of that word. :)

this is not the oxymoron I was looking for, but didn't take me long to figure out the word play. I was expecting some funny word combos but am enjoying this thread thoroughly. I am not an artist but I have attempted welding of different forms and am in utter awe of the skill and artistry I am seeing here.
