Over or Under?

An old question has just surfaced. I ask it here, it is not strictly a BDSM issue, but this is my home community. About the time I started gong to BDSM play-parties I also started to crossdress. Being a 45+ (at the time) male I was not sure how it all went together. I asked around and settled on an answer that I was ok with all these 13 years.

Garters - over or under my panties?

This is the advise I just received "Wear the garter OVER the panties, PLEASE. Unless it's a thong of the same fabric, always wear the garter on top" The advise was given with love and respect from someone I trust.

I have been pondering this question and all these answers for some time now. I do so want to be "proper" and I see that garters "over" is by far the favored. But I just can not fully abide with that all the time.

I have not taken any new photos of me in garters for a long time due to my unsettledness.

In all fairness to everyone, I must give warning that I will start posting new pics and there will be pics with my garters under my panties.

No idea on the original question. I wear panties and hose as little as possible (and never ever ever ever wear pantyhose!) so I'm not real sure what works better.

Stockings used to be the only thing we had to cover our legs. Pantyhose is actually quite a new invention.

Garters worn under the panties looks cheap, to me. A classy lady wears them over. And ALWAYS matches.

I just can't believe that at a time when garters where not used for looks but for practicality they were worn OVER anything. That would totally destroy the point of practicality. And I believes the locations to relieve yourself were generally not favourable to long and complicated undress/redress manoevers.

I rarely wear panties, and I don't have a single pair of pantyhouse in the house. I wear panties under dresses (which I hardly ever wear) and under my soccer/workout clothes, though a friend of mine introduced me to the concept of bike shorts underneath my soccer shorts, for more coverage. I don't want to flash my goods to all and sundry, but panties are so danged uncomfortable, specially just after I've shaved.
