And theirin lies the problem with me. The thigh high hose. I can't wear em, cause I have one leg that's longer than the other, and they don't make em in two lengths. Then the one that's higher rubs against my other thigh and I get blisters.

In Britain I assure you they are called suspender belts, anything else is to make it on an international level.
Garters ar single elasticated bands to hold up stockings or for the tops of mens socks.

Gracie the beauty of stockings is you can adjust the length, my legs are short so I adjust the tops allowing me to wear them.
