For those of you who are (for lack of a better term) "overnight" to me.

Hello.

You may not have noticed that I attempt a sign-on thread - about 9am EST, here from NYC - every day I'm at work - just to say good morning and report the weather and general beginning mood of my day.

But more importantly I started doing so to promote Lurkers to come forth and "simply say hi" - they don't have to say anything of course - I just thought I'd give them free reign to "just say Boo" if they wanted.

It's worked only a little but that's okay by me.

So of course I eventually came to the obvious thought that I was missing all the "overnighters" - with that.......

HELLOOOOOOOOOOO......OVERNIGHTER'S AND ALL THE SHIPS AT SEA!!!! And especially for all you overnight Lurker's out there. Here's you chance.........

I'll get back to you tomorrow - good evening from NYC - I'm off to enjoy the Yanks game. At home, on the tube, cuddled with my lovely wife.

I found this to be a very interesting thread. You know me. I say good mornin' to you every day. A lot of people do. It's a nice way to start the day, and to touch base with friends.
Having done this, however, we seem to have forgotten your noble purpose in starting this series -- something I had forgotten until I popped in here. Pulling in the lurkers. Day after day, you attract a steady crowd of good people, but the lurkers still lurk. I look at the board every day, and I click on the profiles, and I see people who have been here four months and have 0 posts. I don't understand their hesitation to join in and contribute something. Anything. It doesn't have to be profound, or controversial, or argumentative, or funny. It just has to be. There was a lengthy thread on belly buttons, for goodness sake. Don't you lurkers have belly buttons? Innie. Outie. Type it in, press submit reply, and BANG, one post, welcome to the team.
Read this, lurkers, and take it to heart. We're a pretty good bunch here, and if you take the first simple step, you may find yourself walking into something special.

I'm an anti-lurker I pretty much couldn't help joining in right away and it seemed to go pretty smoothly for me.
