Over 40?

Oops-I was thinking of some banana song or something-that one's pretty heavy-anything maybe a little lighter-although I like the Guess Who

How about 'Lost in 50's tonight" by Ronnie Milsap?

All this music talk makes me think of distant days when I used to go dancing...here's an older pic of me at a "Chat Room" get together. Those days were kind of fun (even though I don't really like the pic very much)

Lyrics

Late September back in '63 -- Oh what a night. That was about the time I started thinking about nights to remember. There have been many, and most of them have been in the years past 40. We seem to learn some very very good things along the way ... and then we get to enjoy them!!

Well, at least you can have this but note the caveat at the bottom:

Oh, what a night, late December back in '63
What a very special time for me
As I remember what a night!

Oh what a night,
You know I didn't even know her name
But I was never gonna be the same
What a lady, what a night!

Oh, I got a funny feeling when she walked in the room
And I, as I recall it ended much too soon

(Oh what a night),
Hypnotizing, mesmerizing me
She was everything I dreamed she'd be
Sweet surrender, what a night!

I felt a rush like a rolling bolt of thunder
Straining my head around and taking my body under

(Oh what a night!)

Oh, I got a funny feeling when she walked in the room
And I, as I recall it ended much too soon

Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit

Oh what a night,
Why'd it take so long to see the light?
Seemed so wrong, but now it seems so right
What a lady, what a night!

I felt a rush like a rolling bolt of thunder
Straining my head around and taking my body under

(Oh what a night!)

I felt a rush like a rolling bolt of thunder
Straining my head around and taking my body under

Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit
Oh what a night! Doo dit doo dit dit doo dit doo dit dit

Repeat 2x

Well, how't this:
**************************

LOST IN THE FIFTIES TONIGHT (In the Still Of the Night)
Ronnie Milsap

- #1 in 1985 in country charts
- Part of the song is exactly like the "In the Still Of the Night"
done by The Five Satins but only because he's remembering how they used
to dance to these old tunes and he added some extra words to describe
these olden days, making a "medley" more or less.

Close your eyes,Baby
Follow my heart
Call on the memories
Here in the dark
We'll let the magic
Take us away
Back to the feelings
We shared when they played

In the still of the night
Hold me darlin, hold me tight
So real, so right
Lost in the fifties tonight

These precious hours
We know can't survive
But loves all that matters
While the past is alive
Now and for always
Till time disappears
We'll hold each other
Whenever we hear

In the still of the night
Hold me darlin, hold me tight
So real, so right
Lost in the fifties tonight

That's the one!
