for the past month I have had this little muscle twitch right below my left eye. I would say that it is being caused by stress, but lately I've not had much stress in my life. This is annoying and is driving me batty. I called one of those ask-a-nurse #'s yesterday expecting they would say stress or something similar, but she began to relate it to seizure-like activity and that I should go see a neurologist. ! Not exactly what I expected to hear so I did a search online and came up with what is called a hemifacial spasm. Pretty, no? hehe I learned that when people hit their mid-30's that these little facial tics or spasms spontaneously appear and spontaneously disappear. Fun fun. This along with the fact my metabolism moved to a crawl after 30 and now every month I have serious backaches during my period gives me hope that I have new and exciting body ailments to look forward to as I age.

OK older folks (and by 'older' I mean over 30) share the pain... let me in on what has happened to your body since hitting 30 +.

Beg to differ...

Been working out everyday of my life since high school. At 42 I won grand champion at two tournaments beating the young men very easily. All you got to do is the maintenance and the complaints should not come until much later in life.

One of my teachers is in his 60's and can still kick to the head. Jhoon Rhee still does 1000 pushups a day.

Good stuff in, activity, and you can be very active well into life.

Well, T.V. I'd like to tell you that there are no down sides, but....last time I got my eyes examined, they put me into Bi-focals. Now going down a set of steps can be an adventure.

I think I've told this before but I also developed a strange condition after I passed 30. I came down with Furniture Disease. It's a condition that cases your chest to drop into your drawers.

Lately, I've started to worry about Dinkkydo syndrome too. This is a male disease. You know you have this when your belly sticks out farther than your Dinkky Do.

Some things do change. My arms got too short to read the fine print and sometimes no light is bright enough to see to assemble small toys for my daughter. But I am still too handsome for glasses!

Well Markov, I never said that activity and eating correctly wouldn't greatly reduce the way the body ages, I said that there are inevitable changes in the body as you age, such as a slower metabolism and facial tics.

For your information, my father is 60 and he's in perfect health, works out every day, snow skies in France, Austria and Switzerland every year so I'm aware that being physically fit can help to reduce the problems associated with aging. However, despite the fact he's eaten very healthy for the past 20 years and has never missed a workout, he still has a pacemaker and he can no longer run a 6 minute mile.

Why don't you take the time to read my post instead of jumping to the conclusion that I meant as you age, you waste away?

You just think things are bad because you live in a culture that venerates youth. I was raised in a culture that venerates it's elders.

Change the way you think about your age and celebrate the wisdom that you have gained and stop watching Pepsi commercials. That stuff isn't real.

Young people don't have any answers and rarely a clue (just read some of the pablum that our three favorite leftists put out as an example). That's why god gave them good bodies. So thier self-esteem wouldn't be completely shattered.

I have no problem with getting older, son. And I am aware that my society venerates youth. Did you think your presence here on this board would enlighten us all? This post was merely recognition of the effects of aging.

Quit patronizing me, I don't like it and it most certainly doesn't cast a favorable light on your personality.

Hoping my wise cracking post doesn't get totally overshadowed by,,,,,,,,,,,,, whatever it is.

Tenn. Vixen, you can bring all you tics to my place and we can compare. ;)

I do not give a shit about that. Any more than Scruffy or Sparky or Puddles. Everyone gets patronized here.

whoo

nice big chip you have on your shoulder. *laughing*

Go ahead, be a shithead - I don't care.

Willy, I'm watching you. ;-)

Here for such a short time and yet already have trolling down?

I pat myself on the back for recognizing your lack of character within reading 3 of your posts.

Alright, Vixen!!!!!!

You've got a troll!!!! You have arrived!!!!!!

Wonder who doesn't have guts to name themselves now??????

trolls

willy, I've had one once before but it's been a long time.

Nice to know that someone dislikes me so much to take the time to troll. It's a pretty pathetic attempt though. Last time the person at least had a little originality.

Sometimes my mind writes a check my body can't cash.

Last weekend I pulled a leg muscle playing tennis because, the doc said, I didn't stretch beforehand. Stretch? I don't need no stinking stretching! I never stretched before! His reply wasyou were never this old before.

Note to Markov/shit:

Quit while you're ahead.

You are soooo right, it is a really dull attempt.

And over what???? Thats what I found funny. Oh well, back to work, catch ya later.

Is it just me...

or is everyone from Tennessee dumb as a stump?

Man. they're dead!

And no, Bill didn't do it.

I don't think so at any rate.

mumbles soomething like semper fidelis or some shit.

Let a fellow have some fun now!

Yeah miles! Why can you let him get his rocks off by spouting comments that have nothing at all to do with the thread, rationalize his points by being a pretentious putz and by basically trolling and being a nasty person? What are you thinking - c'mon, let a fella have fun.

right.

Of course not! He would have carried Tennessee if they were

Yes, I would like to also point out that

I remember when miles came on the board.
I remember when TN_Vixen came on the board (twit then and now).
I remember when Rambling Man came on and I never flamed any one of you.
Hell I remember when Todd was BobToad777 and came up with some scary religeous stuff before the cut and paste phase.

TN_Vixen took all of 1 post to flame me. Read it. Understand. Connect the dots.

This is why A_J went on a rampage and I guess people must be subjected to that treatment before they get the message...

Be patient with new posters until you give them a chance to find thier voice and be a member of the board, or at least until you figure out who and what they are.

Jeez!

If you are a new poster how can you remember when everyone else joined the BB?

Just give it a rest, man.

Markov,

I didn't flame you at all. What I did was to point out that your responses didn't directly correlate to my post. When you continued to condescend, I pointed that out as well. Then you said you didn't care. So, why should I?

You have every right to think I'm a twit, sometimes I am. I simply don't take myself that seriously. I happen to know my own intellectual ability and I don't need verification from you to feel confident in myself.

Most of the people here are willing to allow someone time in order to "find their voice" but you have to realize that when you come across as patronizing, as you do... and scoff at everyone else's opinion, as you do... then you will have people who don't give a damn about what you have to say. Especially when you post as Unregistered just to jab someone. It's been my experience that people who behave in that way do so to drag people down in hopes of making themself feel better and that's just sad.

Maybe you'll never "get it."
