Out of practice and seeking advice

I'm in the process of training a new sub. She's taken to it like a fish takes to water (pardon the cliche).

I'm about to introduce her to the cane, which -- as many of you know -- is beautiful in its nastiness.

Thoughts, suggestions, or experiences?

Know your sub and their limits, respect them, and make sure they know their safeword and are not reluctant to use it if needed.....but you know all that already. Happy training and playing.

I'd suggest a nice long warm up. That always helps me to be able to take the cane a bit better when its time.

If you're out of practice, I'd practice.

If you want her to love the cane then going slow and making sure the tip of your cane is not extending past her ass at all will go a long way.

I'm out of shape with the cane, and I can't seem to control the tip very well.

Good scene music is great, start with slow and sensuous music and light gentle strokes of the cane... slowly ramp up the intensity of the music and as you do so ramp up the intensity of the cane. Slow down.. speed up... lighter... harder...

Vary the intensity and watch her reactions... is she pushing back into the cane (enjoying the beejeebers out of it) or arching away, dancing, struggling (perhaps having problems processing the pain)???

Do it right and you can end up with the 1812 Overture going and wailing the holy sheep dip out of her and having her love it...

Get a leather couch and practice on that. I never strike a girl with anything that I haven't struck both an inanimate object and myself with first.

I have been caned once, at a play party - the Dom who did it warmed me up with a flogger first and I managed to take 12 strokes of the cane with only one yellow safe word in the middle of it (but boy did I yell out RED at the end!)

It was my first real experience of sub space and I was really surprised at how the cane felt, pain yet not pain.....hard to describe!
