im sure this thread will get no replys but i feel like posting it anyway was bratcats 3 song threads fault this is our song ... lisa and me ... its very special and dear to me sarah mclachlan was the first cd lisa bought to me and we'd always listen to it together while she was away in canada and i was in uk we'd listen at the same time and we'd both nearly always cry when this song came on ... its the piano version of the song that really causes the tears at very end of the cd ... does anyone here like sarah do you know which song im talking about ... what is "your" song for you and your partner .. im in a sappy mood sorry going to go snuggle now with lisa some more

Did you know Sarah wrote this song about a man who stalked her? She was very frightened when she wrote it... the words written in his letter to her were:

I just re-read my post as I came back to this thread. It sounded cold, which is not at all the way I intended it. I have always loved that song and am a huge fan of Sarah. I thought it was interesting when I heard her talking about writing Possession in an interview and spoke of her experiences. We all interpret songs in our own ways... to relate to our lives. This is one of the many things that makes us all so very unique. I think it's wonderful that you two share a song, so that when you're very far away... you have that connection to each other any time you feel the least bit lonesome. A song can make me sad, make me smile... make me remember great times I've had... and make me feel the warmth of loved ones that I miss...

i think shes a great song writer and there is a lot of her other songs that remind me of things to do with my life and my relationship with lisa
