Our Exit Stategy

IF we had voted for a moderator, these garbage posts could be moved to GB where they belong, just saying.

Some of us were beat up over suggesting there be a political subforum here.

The AH has turned into a political rantings place with multiple threads begun by just a few.[/

squarejohn...heard on the news today that the moment the US employs the Obama 'exit strategy' from Iraq, the government now there will be overthrown in days if not hours.

I suppose not many even remember the Marshall plan that fed the starving Europeans for years after WW2 and the Berlin airlift; selective memory for left wing causes only.

I remember when we had rationing of all sorts of things, like gasoline, tires, food, certain items of apparel. I was five when I first saw butter and my father for the first time. When nylon stockings became available, women lined up for blocks to buy a pair. Before that, they painted stockings on their legs including the black back seam.

The comments here are unbelievable; I used to howl with laughter at some of them. A hell of a lot of people that post here don't know anything, except being a smartass, and they're not very good at that.

I guess they are the ones who have eyes, but cannot see; ears, but cannot hear.

I have no problems with political threads on the AH, but I do think squarejohn is an alt, which is tiresome, but what are ya gonna do.

Yes...to all you wrote.

This is an 'open' forum, which may come as news to the LGBT crowd and other aberrant personalities. The forum is also open to the political spectrum, not just one side, and that too, may come as news to the usual suspects.

There really is not an all inclusive description of the most prolific Posters here. By definition, they are socialists and communists, but they all deny any association with any political philosophy.

They are anti free market but vague on what they prefer; they are anti American, except they love the troops and hate our foreign policy.

They saturate the arts, the media and the schools with their vague political views and that is why I decided to respond to your latest.

I think it is important for those like yourself to clearly state your viewpoints in counterpoint to the prevailing winds of change, the Obama transformation of America, into an European social democracy.

I further think it is imperative that those who love America and the spirit of human freedom, step forth and describe why the very concept of America and the word itself, gave and still gives hope to oppressed people around the world.

The concepts of individual human liberty are not difficult to relate to others, but from the reaction on this forum, some have never considered why America holds a special place in the history of the world.

That is sad, as liberty once lost, is seldom regained peacefully.

If only the 'Berlin Airlift' and the Marshall Plan were 'right-wing' causes....your advanced age AmiCoot has robbed you of any semblance of the truth........these were 'leftist' causes....the right could care less about starving children and genocide.....
Check the facts before you spew such bullshit..............

Yes, I got quite a laugh over that misinformation from Ami.

I propose we leave the Iraqis to deal with their own issues. After thousands of years, do you expect any selflessness to be in their political philosophy?

Oh look, the election was in March for god's sake and, Oh Darn, the wrong guy won!:eek: So where is this new democracy? Right, got'cha.

In Afghanistan the situation if more critical, getting out of Afghanistan is very hard, particularly since we've hauled in so much shit! I think the reason McCrystal was pushing in Kandhar is to make an escape route to the Arabian Sea. The roads are bad, but at least they are roads and it is a lot less of Pakistan to transit on the way out.

If we're smart we will exfiltrate with prudent haste, to end the drain on our treasury.

SqJohn seems to have a different opinion, however the notion of winning, is laughable. What do we win? The undying gratitude of the huddled masses, yearning to be free, of us?

Those people who post, but have nothing to say, think they are smarter than anyone else. They have no real experience in the world, so they think America is not much different than other countries. No matter what you, me, or anyone of like mind post, we can always count on these people to attack anything we say.

They have no idea what America really is. In America, anyone with the desire and imagination, can do anything they want with their lives. This is virtually impossible elsewhere.

In America, there are at least two points of view on any issue, and we usually recognize these generally as being to the Left and to the Right. A probability curve of the percentage of people holding left or right views (and all the gradients of these views) would resemble the probability curve of, say, a mound of grain. In such a curve, one could easily see the percentage of people on the extremes of the curve and the gradually increasing percentages as you move from the extremes, toward the center. It has always been that way and it will always be that way.

Regardless of ones view on any issue, it is a certainty, in America, that you have the legal right to express that view to as many people as will listen to you. Virtually impossible elsewhere.

In America, before, or about, the year of 1964, the views of the left and the right, were in balance, and it was a "live and let live" environment in America. America then was not so outrageously litigious and confrontational. America then was a very nice place to live. People respected each other and had a healthy self-respect.

Things started changing in 1964, when it was fully realized that public opinion could be formed (or deformed) by the use of the mass medium of television, personal freedom and personal authority, began to decline.

The changes were always very small and usually not perceived by the average person. But the changes began dividing the country and subdividing it, with the goal of generating animosity between individual citizens. As an example, cigarette smokers against non-smokers.

Before 1964, about half the population were smokers. Non-smokers accepted cigarette smokers without any animus. If a smoker was a guest in the home of a non-smoker, he was provided with an ashtray, not shown the door. Everybody knew that cigarette smoking was probably no good for you (cigarettes were often called "coffin nails.") But if you wanted to smoke, that was your business and no one really gave it much thought.

The first Surgeon General's report on cigarette smoking was generated. The government selected a group of journalists, locked them into an auditorium, gave each of them a copy of the SG's report and forty-five minutes to read it. Then there were told how to present this as "news." Most of them complied with their government issued marching orders, and virtually overnight, cigarettes became a scourge of mankind. Everyone, every day, read, heard on the radio, and saw on TV what a dangerous thing cigarette smoking was. And then they repeated what was in the news to one another. People began to quit smoking.

Not enough, however, to satisfy the underlying goal of pitting citizens, one against the other. So the concept of "secondary smoke" was introduced. Statistical "proof" was widely publicized to convince people that smoking was not only harmful to the ridiculed-in-the-media smoker, but also dangerous to those in his company. The EPA "scientific study" which "proved" the dangers of second-hand smoke, was struck down in court as being fraudulent. This fact was not widely reported, and if it was reported, was buried deep in the content of the news. The campaign to vilify smokers and sanctify non-smokers, moved into high gear. Now it is impossible to smoke cigarettes any place indoors and many places outdoors. In some places, smokers cannot even light up in their own homes.

There was enough success with pitting smokers against non-smokers, that the same method was employed to divide the population in other ways. Male against female, chubby against thin, gay against straight, healthy food against junk food, clean air/water vs pollution, big cars vs small, etc, etc, ad infinitum.

The concept of "politically correct" speech was introduced and enforced in the public school system and in colleges and universities. People could still speak what was on their mind, so long as politically correct language was used. As a result, people began speaking differently. Colorful, natural speech, which was at least entertaining even if one disagreed with it, now was bland, colorless, and in most cases, meaningless. Everybody began speaking as a lecturer in a sociology classroom. Now, when people speak to each other, they fail to communicate. The population is effectively silenced.

This did not happen overnight; it happened over a span of forty plus years. It happened because the New Left had made it happen. It is a sophisticated divide-and-conquer strategy designed whittle away at institutions and the American way of life to a state of collapse, to be replaced by by some vague Utopian system in which there will be no poverty, no want, no differences, and ultimately, no nothing. It is called by many names: Liberalism, Socialism, Marxism, Communism; take your pick, they all mean the same thing: the stifling of individual initiative, imagination, personal freedom and self-reliance.

Whatever term you picked, it is not really a political issue, not at the core. It is, instead, a mental disease, albeit not net clinically recognized as such.

Those who suffer from this disease, the true believers, the promulgators, the ones who supply treasure and talent to push forward the Revolution to Utopia appear in other ways to be perfectly normal people. Not only normal, but often exceptionally bright and talented and rich and famous by their own efforts. The are often very much admired and have large followings of ordinary people. All that is wrong with them is their as yet clinically unrecognized mental illness that will not allow them to see the futility of their goal, that it is so antithetical to human nature, there is no possibility to actually realize it.

Naturally, devoted followers of the true believers, will jump up and say, "Prove, by logical argument, that what you say is true." In the prevailing climate, that would not be possible without being shouted down, threatened, and insulted within the first two minutes.

Fortunately, the logical argument has been made, approximately 2500 years ago.

One of the Dialogs of Plato, The Republic, dissects the idea of a socialist/communist/liberal Utopia from the overall idea, and downward to the cellular level.

Using the logic obtained by ratiocination, the Socratic dialogue examines every element of a Utopia in exquisite, often excruciating, detail. Nothing in Utopia, from "who rules?" to who does the cooking and cleaning, goes unexamined, and is compared and weighed against every other element as well as against the whole. In the end, the idea of Utopia is dismissed as unworkable.

Many of the people in this forum have certainly read this work at least once, and probably years ago. I recommend reading it again, in the light of the current political situation. Those who now believe in the Obama Administration's policies, but do not suffer from the previously mentioned mental disorder, may have second thoughts. The True Believers, hindered by their mental disease, may not feel a need to read The Republic once more, or, if they do read it, will dismiss it as trash.

I know that by posting this, I will expose myself to, vicious attack and insult by any True Believers in the readership, which I will ignore. Others, who possess intelligence, but are not afflicted with the clinically unrecognized mental illness may have sharp questions and comments, to which I will give consideration.

And that is all I have to say for the moment.

I have no problems with political threads on the AH, but I do think squarejohn is an alt, which is tiresome, but what are ya gonna do.

What ya do is confront these straw men and women, force them to speak from the mouth that birthed them and let them spew the nonsense and defend the hollow causes they espouse.....that's watcha do.....................
Do ya hear me AmiCoot? You refuse to confront anyone who can pull your intellectual card and that's most conservative college freshmen......
don't even fuck with the liberal children - they'll punch your card and send you to the death camps.........................................if only

Why bother?

Unless someone challenges them, they believe that a lack of objection constitutes agreement with their nonsense.....
So, yes, I think that these psuedo-intellectual bullies need to be confronted and defanged. If for no other reason than the fact that it calls their lack of manhood into play.....
This is particularly true in the case of JBJ and AmiCoot....they are truly powerless and emasculated. Classic cases as my muse: the bikini barista tells me.......................

Those people who post, but have nothing to say, think they are smarter than anyone else.

Even if they just tell you to stick it in your ear, chances are good that they are smarter on topics like this than you are. First, chances are good they came here to discuss erotica writing since that's what the Web site and this forum thread are about. And second, chances are even greater that they feel no need to argue gobs of disinformation with dumb reactionaries like you. That you have to come on a porn board to push this kind of crap pretty much proves your total impotence on the subject.

Really, you might as well have asked asked women and African Americans if they wanted the right to vote, puh-leeze. :rolleyes:

~~~
Let me make what you will consider an outrageous statement for you to consider, if I may.
Blacks vote consistently, in every election in the high 70's and 80's for a sngle party. Women, according to statistics, vote 53 to 57% percent for one political party.
The Democrats would never win another election without black and female voters.
A Democracy or to be accurate our Republic, functions with a two party system that basically reflects a masculine, Republican, world view and the Democrats, that reflect an opposing, more feminine, passive and dependent world view.
There are many, myself included, who question the wisdom of 'giving' the vote to women and African Americans. Perhaps they should have earned the right to participate in the political process by demonstrating the necessary objective and dispassionate ability to judge issues on the basis of merit and not on the basis of what your vote can get for you.
There is a Black Candidate, Aklvin Green, from a southern State, that has barely sufficient knowledge of the language to even speak in coherent sentences and yet he is a candidate in the General election.
Perhaps I will find a youtube excerpt of his total lack of qualifications to run for office and perhaps not even capable of voting rationally.
There are reasons why women remain unfranchised in a majority of the world's population...not that you will do anything but foam at the mouth...but then, maybe you are not qualified to vote either?:)
squarejohn, your Post #14, a good summation of what real Americans are facing:
"...Those people who post, but have nothing to say, think they are smarter than anyone else. I consider the left wing progressive liberals here as a faith based community that believes in a collective community as the non thinking solutions to contemporary and age old problems of human social interactions.
I offer a means to understanding European laxitude concerning human liberty; that being a series of rule by Monarchs, centuries old wars between Kings and Empires, and a devolution from a glimpse of liberty into the socialist influence of the late Soviet Union that impoverished Eastern Europe for forty years.
The rest of the world is still gong through a transitional stages of recovering from centuries of European Colonial rule and they are generations away from discovering the inherent beauty of a free society.
The past century in America has provided a series of leadership with the utopian socialist dream not far from their innermost desires and dreams. During that time, many Americans were not educated to understand and appreciate the values of liberty and a free society.
We have also had a vast and huge influx of female and minority participants in the political arena who are hell bent to right the wrongs of the past by giving special treatment to women and minorities that has virtually destroyed the concept of the former Meritocracy that made America great.
This to direct an upright middle finger to Stella Omega and her crowd; this is a 'writerly' commentary that deals with ethics and morals and the social interaction of people and ideals and ideas that determine and reflect the lifestyles of the diversity of people that make up the United States.
I changed my tactics on this forum a few years back. I used to just respond to the mass of political threads originated by the progressive left. Threads on all their favorite subjects, abortion, gay rights, gay marriage, anti war, anti Bush, the entire gamut of left wing complaints.
I decided to go on the attack and expose the left for the shallow beliefs they emote, and to illustrate just how intellectually bankrupt their thoughts and plans were and how disgusting and fringe area what they consider 'literature' to be.
Someone, perhaps on another thread stated that the left wing had virtual total control over the media, the arts, entertainment and music, and I fully agree, they do. They produce some of the worst political themes in their movies, books and films and even songs and art, that the world has ever witnessed.
I thought and I still think it is well nigh time to point out the depth of degradation the left has imposed on the world of art and entertainment and in doing so, hope to inspire those who admire human beauty and intelligence and rational, moral human associations in relationships and love, to step up and challenge the status quo of the trashy left with quality art work.
Appreciate your efforts...keep up the good work!
No, some folk feed off of engagement (just check out the GB) and you really don't gain a thing by calling their manhood into play except for having a giggle. To respond is to play into their game, which is fine if it's fun for you and you like to play at such, which a lot of people do...I've enjoyed messing with LJ, myself. But some folk make certain comments hoping to get responses, so the lack of response, ignoring, is really he most effective tack.
Women always vote their financial interests. If Adolph Hitler increased their welfare chex one penny he'd be THE MAN for them.
Blacks vote for whomever has the tales with the most bizarre and fantastical BS.
