I burned my arm with some hot oil while I attempted to make sweet and sour chicken. I was displeased with the result, but my family liked it.

The sauce was made from brown sugar, ketchup, crushed pineapple and lemon juice (I ran out of lemon juice and squeezed a grapefruit half for the same result) I had to roll the chicken in flour and garlic pepper before frying it in the before mentioned hot oil. I caramelized onions and celery to mix in. All that work, not to mention that burn, added up to what tasted a lot like grilled chicken with ketchup.

I'm looking on the bright side. Maybe I can get Nike to pay me for advertising their shoes on my skin.

There was a third burn that I couldn't see...

Apparently, the first one looks like parrots mating, and the little one is a baby parrot.

I hope that the burns do not continue to procreate.

Wait until you accidentally pull a hot pan or casserole dish out of the oven. It may sound too stupid to be true, but give it a couple of decades... I'm assuming you're fairly young.

Or, pop a steaming-hot butter tart (fresh from the oven) into your mouth. Why he didn't spit it out...?

Or, get distracted by trying to shoo your little ones away form the stove while you're frying bacon. Why is it always the underside of the arm? Where it hurts the most?? lowered it right on to the edge of the frying pan and grease spattered up as well. Nothing serious though. The kids had a good laugh until they realized I was hurt.

The best was a co-worker when I was a teen. He dropped his glasses into the fry vat and stuck his hand in to fish them out. He was off work for awhile, showed off his injuries (teen-age girls loved squealing about that type of thing back then) and we all laughed about it.

I hope the pain goes away quickly.
